Velikuzhiyil Devadasan Rajappan (വി. ഡി. രാജപ്പൻ) was an Indian actor in Malayalam movies . He was a popular Kadhaprasangam artist in Kerala. [1] He was born in Kottayam, Kerala. He was known for his inventive style in stand-up comedy in the late 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. [2] He started his career in the 1980s mainly portraying comedian roles and has acted in more than 100 films in Malayalam. He is considered as the godfather of parody songs in Malayalam. [3]

Family

He was born to Devadasan and Vasanthy at Kottayam. He was married to Sulochana and they have two sons, Rajesh and Rajeev. [1] [4] Rajesh works in M. G. University and Rajeev is a nurse in Doha. [5] He was settled at Peroor, Ettumanoor. He died at a private hospital in Kottayam at the age of 72 on 24 March 2016. [6]

Death

V. D. Rajappan died on March 25, 2016 at 11:30 am in KIMS Hospital, Kottayam. He was suffering from diabetes and high blood pressure, which led to the paralysis of his leg. But cardiac arrest was the cause of death. [1] He was cremated with full state honors on the next day at his house premises. [3]

Kachinamthoduka Puthiyapurayil Ummer known as K. P. Ummer was an Indian actor from Thekkepuram quarter of Kozhikode, Kerala, India. He was active in the Malayalam cinema from early sixties until late nineties.

Sudheer Kumar, better known by his stage name Maniyanpilla Raju, is an Indian actor and producer who works in Malayalam film industry. His debut film was Mohiniyaattam in 1976. T. G. Ravindranathan, popularly known as T. G. Ravi, is an Indian actor, mainly noted for his roles as a villain in Malayalam cinema. He along with Balan K. Known for his body language and style of dialogue delivery, he played some of the biggest villain roles in Malayalam cinema during that period.

Jose Prakash was an Indian actor and singer who worked in Malayalam cinema. He was a singer turned actor who had appeared in more than 300 films mostly in antagonist roles. He was awarded with the J. C. Daniel Award in 2011, a day before he died aged 86. In a career spanning for around 40 years, he is known for portraying some of the iconic villain characters in the Malayalam film industry. Azeez was an Indian actor in Malayalam cinema. He acted in more than 100 films. He was a member of K.P.A.C., which was a prominent leftist drama troupe in Kerala, and thus he got famous as "K.P.A.C Azeez".
