Valentyna Semenivna Shevchenko (Ukrainian :ВалентинаСеменівнаШевченко;12 March 1935 –3 February 2020) was the Chairperson of the Presidium of Supreme Soviet of the Ukrainian SSR.
Shevchenko was born the daughter of a miner,Semen Solianyk,in Kryvyi Rih,Dnipropetrovsk Oblast,Soviet Union.
From 1975 to 1985,Shevchenko was deputy chairperson of the Supreme Council Presidium of the Ukrainian SSR. After the death of Oleksiy Vatchenko,she began acting as the chairwoman until her official appointment on petition of Volodymyr Shcherbytsky.
In 1989 Shevchenko refused to sign prohibition against the People's Movement of Ukraine.
From September 1997 on she was the honorary president of the National Fund of social defence of mothers and children:"Ukraine –children".
Shevchenko died on 3 February 2020 at the age of 84. [1]

Shevchenkove is a village in Izmail Raion of Odesa Oblast of Ukraine. It belongs to Kiliia urban hromada,one of the hromadas of Ukraine. It is located 63 km (39 mi) from the raion center and 28 km (17 mi) from the Dzinilor railway station. The territory has a flat topography. A large cluster of water bodies in the Danube and Northern Black Sea basins is concentrated within a radius of 30 km (19 mi). According to the 2001 census,5,625 inhabitants lived in the village,the territory is 6.37 km2 (2.46 sq mi),with the agricultural land measuring 98.68 km2 (38.10 sq mi),and by both indicators it is the largest village in the district.
An okruha is a historical administrative division of the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic that existed between 1923 and 1930. The system was intended as a transitional system between the Russian Imperial division of governorates and the modern equivalent of oblasts.
The Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic,referred to between 1991 and 1996 as the Presidium of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine was the permanent body of the Supreme Soviet of the Ukrainian SSR then of the Verkhovna Rada,accountable to the Supreme Soviet in its activity,and,within the nominal limits prescribed by the Constitution of the Ukrainian SSR,performed functions of the highest state power in the Ukrainian SSR. Chernobyl Raion or Chornobyl Raion was a raion in the Soviet Union located in the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic. It was one of 26 administrative raions (districts) of Kyiv Oblast in northern Ukraine. After the Chernobyl disaster,the majority of the raion was contaminated,and many of its populated places were included into the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone,which is an officially designated exclusion area around the site of the disaster.
Nizoramo Odinovna Zaripova is a Soviet politician and women's rights advocate. She headed the Women's Department of the Communist Party of Tajikistan from 1947 to 1956 and then became a Secretary of the Party between 1956 and 1966. In 1966,she was elected as Deputy Chair of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Tajik Soviet Socialist Republic. During her tenure,through 1989,she stepped into the Chair of the Presidium between January and February 1984,as acting head of state.

Kirill Fyodorovich Ilyashenko was a Moldavian politician who served as the Chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Moldavian SSR from 1963 to 1980. He served the longest as Chairman of the Presidium,serving a total of 17 years.

Alina Petrovna Vedmid was a Ukrainian politician and agronomist who was head of the "Zorya" collective farm in the Kyiv Oblast. She worked at the Peremoga collective farm in the Bohuslav Raion and was a laboratory assistant,technician-economist,engineer-economist at the Ukrainian Machine Testing Station. Vedmid was an economist and later chief economist of the collective farm "Dawn of Communism" in the Vasylkiv Raion. She was an elected deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic that lasted from 1984 to 1989 and in the Congress of People's Deputies of the Soviet Union between 1989 and 1991 and in the third convocation of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine from 1998 to 2002. Vedmid was decorated with the Order of the Badge of Honour and the title of Hero of Socialist Labour with the Order of Lenin award and the "Hammer and Sickle" gold medal.
Mariya Andriivna Orlyk was a Ukrainian teacher and Communist Party of the Soviet Union politician. She began teaching in the village called Zolotnyky in the Ternopil Oblast following her graduation from the Faculty of History of the Volodymyr Vynnychenko Central Ukrainian State Pedagogical University. in 1953. Orlyk taught history and was headmaster of the rural Zolotnikovskaya Secondary School. She served as a Deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the Ukrainian SSR between 1975 and 1989 and was deputy chair of the Council of Ministers of the Ukrainian SSR from April 1978 to 1990.
