Versova, Mumbai Place in Maharashtra, India

Versova is an upmarket neighbourhood in the north western Mumbai. It is known for its beach and the Versova Fort. It was part of Portuguese India, which was part of the Portuguese Empire, until 1739, when the Portuguese lost this part of their empire to the Maratha Empire. The beach of Versova recently undertook a massive clean-up effort, labelled as the largest ever beach clean-up.

Versova Vidhan Sabha constituency is one of the 288 Vidhan Sabha constituencies in Maharashtra state in western India.

The 11.40 km line is fully elevated, and consists of 12 stations from Versova to Ghatkopar. The line connects the eastern and western suburbs of Mumbai. It was built at an estimated cost of 4,321 crore (US$600 million) and is operated by the Metro One Operation Pvt Ltd (MOOPL) on a 5-year contract. The MOOPL is a joint venture company owned by Reliance Infrastructure (30%) and RATP Dev Transdev Asia (70%).
