Police Tero Football Club, formerly known as BEC Tero Sasana is a Thai professional football club based in Bangkok. The club finished runners-up in the inaugural AFC Champions League competition in 2003. BEC Tero Sasana merged with Police United in the 2017 season and changed its official name to Police Tero Football Club in the 2018 season.
Police Lieutenant Kiatisuk "Zico" Senamuang, is a Thai football manager and a former footballer who played between 1989 and October 2007. During his eighteen-year career Kiatisuk played as a striker and scored 251 goals in 339 appearances. The former striker played for clubs in Malaysia, Singapore, England and Vietnam as well as in his homeland. Kiatisuk also earned 131 caps and scored 70 goals for Thailand between 1992 and 2007. In 1996, while playing for Raj Pracha FC Kiatisuk scored 127 goals in 71 games, achieving an (unrecognised) record as top scorer.

The club was relegated from the 2010 Thai Premier League only 4 years after winning their first league title in 2006. This moving was off the legend Osotspa Football Club or Super Power Samut Prakan one of the longest established football club in Thailand since 1977 with financial problems and sponsor support issues.

At the top of the Thai football league system, it is the country's premier football competition. Contested by 16 clubs, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with Thai League 2. The Thai League is a corporation in which the 16 member clubs act as shareholders. Seasons run from February to October, with teams playing 30 games each with a total of 240 games in the season. It is sponsored by Toyota and therefore officially known as the Toyota Thai League. In the Thai League, most of the games are played during Saturdays and Sundays, with a few games played on Wednesdays and Fridays.

The 2017 Thai FA Cup is the 22nd season of a Thailand's knockout football competition. It was sponsored by Chang, and known as the Chang FA Cup for sponsorship purposes. The tournament is organized by the Football Association of Thailand. 74 clubs were accepted into the tournament, and it began with the qualification round on 5 April 2017, and concluded with the final on 25 November 2017. The winner would have qualified for the 2018 AFC Champions League preliminary round 2 and the 2018 Thailand Champions Cup.
