Uganda, officially the Republic of Uganda, is a country in East-Central Africa. It is bordered to the east by Kenya, to the north by South Sudan, to the west by the Democratic Republic of the Congo, to the south-west by Rwanda, and to the south by Tanzania. The southern part of the country includes a substantial portion of Lake Victoria, shared with Kenya and Tanzania. Uganda is in the African Great Lakes region. Uganda also lies within the Nile basin, and has a varied but generally a modified equatorial climate.

The Masaba people, or Bamasaaba, are a Bantu people inhabiting the Eastern Ugandan districts of Sironko, Manafwa, Bududa, Mbale and Bulambuli. Their language is also called 'Masaba'. They are closely related to the Bukusu and Luhya of Western Kenya. They are a mainly agricultural people, farming millet, bananas and sorghum on small-holder plots. Maize became popular with the coming of Europeans in late 1890s.

On account of being a cabinet minister, James Mutende was also an ex officio Member of Parliament.

The Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC), also known as the National Oil Company of Uganda, is a limited liability petroleum company in Uganda and owned by the Ugandan government. The 2013 Petroleum Act of Uganda provides for the establishment of the national oil company. UNOC's board of directors was inaugurated on 23 October 2015 by the president of Uganda.
Josephine Kasalamwa Wapakabulo, also Josephine Wapakabulo Thomas, is a Ugandan electrical engineer and business executive. She served as the founding Chief Executive Officer of Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC). She was appointed in June 2016, being the first person to serve in that position., She resigned as UNOC CEO with effect from 13 August 2019, "to focus on her family and new opportunities".
