Wayne Pai (Chinese :白文正; pinyin :Pai Wencheng; 14 October 1952 – July 2008) was a Taiwanese businessman.

Pai founded the Polaris Group (寶來集團), the second largest securities brokerage of Taiwan, [1] and served as the chairman of the company. Pai was considered a successful businessperson, [2] but was entangled in multiple scandals prior to his death. [3] He disappeared in Penghu since 2 July 2008. The police found Pai's body and confirmed his death by suicide on the morning of 4 July 2008. [1] [4]

Pan An-bang, was a Taiwanese pop and folk singer, television presenter and actor. He was famous for the song "Grandma's Penghu Bay" (外婆的澎湖灣), which is one of the classic Taiwanese campus folk songs in the late 1970s. He was also one of the first pop singers from Taiwan to perform in mainland China in the 1980s. After the successful nationwide television performance on CCTV New Year's Gala in 1989, he became well-known on both sides of the Strait. He died from kidney cancer in 2013.

Fujian–Taiwan relationship Relations between Taiwan and the mainland Chinese province of Fujian

The Fujian-Taiwan relationship, also known as the Minnan-Taiwan relationship, refers to the relationship between Fujian, which is located in mainland China, and Taiwan, which is across the Taiwan Strait. Since the average width of the Taiwan Strait is 180 kilometers, Fujian and Taiwan are adjacent, similar in both climate and environment. Although the relationship between Taiwan and Fujian has changed with the development of history, the two places have maintained close relations in terms of personnel, economy, military, culture and other aspects. At present, Taiwan residents are mostly descendants of immigrants from mainland China, of which the southern Fujian ethnic group is the main group, accounting for 73.5% of Taiwan's total population.
