The Walensee, also known as Lake Walen or Lake Walenstadt from Walenstadt, is one of the larger lakes in Switzerland, with about two thirds of its area in the Canton of St. Gallen and about one third in the Canton of Glarus. Weesen (Hermannsburg) Ortsteil of Südheide in Lower Saxony, Germany

Weesen is a village belonging to the municipality (Einheitsgemeinde) of Südheide in the north of Celle district in Germany. It lies within the Südheide Nature Park, on the Lüneburg Heath, about 1 km east of Hermannsburg and currently has around 520 inhabitants. Until its incorporation into Hermannsburg as part of the Lower Saxon regional and administrative reforms in 1973, Weesen belonged to the largest municipality in Lower Saxony by area. A stream, the Weesener Bach, flows through the village which, since 1999, has been placed under conservation protection along its entire length. On several of the farms there are still old Treppenspeicher storage barns from the 19th century.

Linthal Braunwaldbahn railway station is a railway station in the municipality of Glarus Süd in the Swiss canton of Glarus. It is situated on the Weesen to Linthal railway line in the valley of the Linth river, some 500 metres (1,600 ft) short of the terminus of the line at Linthal station in the village of Linthal. The station opened in 1982 in order to provide a convenient interchange with the Braunwaldbahn funicular to the car-free resort of Braunwald on the mountain above.

Weesen Abbey

Weesen Abbey is a monastery of Dominican nuns located in Weesen in the Canton of St. Gallen, Switzerland. The Dominican convent is located at the foot of a terraced hillside in the middle of the town of Weesen on the effluence of the Maag respectively Linth from Walensee. Established in 1256, Weesen is the oldest Dominican friary of nuns in Switzerland. The buildings and the library respectively archives are listed in the Swiss inventory of cultural property of national and regional significance.

The Ziegelbrücke–Sargans railway is a railway operated by the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB).

The Ziegelbrücke–Linthal railway, is a single-track standard-gauge line in Switzerland. It was opened in two stages and by two railway companies. The line from Weesen via Näfels-Mollis to Glarus was opened on 15 February 1859 by the United Swiss Railways. It was opened with the Rüti–Rapperswil–Weesen line. The line from Glarus via Schwanden to Linthal was opened on 1 June 1879 by the Swiss Northeastern Railway.
