The fourth and final season of Wilfred , premiered on FXX on June 25, 2014. [1] The fourth season consisted of 10 episodes. The series is based on the original Australian series, Wilfred, and stars Elijah Wood, Jason Gann, Fiona Gubelmann and Dorian Brown.
Wilfred is an Australian-American comedy television series that aired from June 23, 2011 to August 13, 2014 for a total of four seasons. Based on the Australian SBS One series of the same name, it stars Elijah Wood and series co-creator Jason Gann, reprising his role of the eponymous dog. The series was adapted for the American television channel FX by Family Guy veteran David Zuckerman. Season 4 premiered on June 25, 2014. Wilfred moved to FXX for its fourth and final season.

John Michael Higgins is an American actor, voice actor and comedian whose film credits include Christopher Guest's mockumentaries, the role of David Letterman in HBO's The Late Shift and a starring role in the American version of Kath & Kim. He portrayed Peter Lovett in the TV Land original sitcom Happily Divorced and provided the voice of Iknik Blackstone Varrick in The Legend of Korra. He also starred in the NBC sitcom Great News as Chuck Pierce for 2 seasons. He currently hosts the game show America Says. He is nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Game Show Host.
William James Remar is an American actor and voice artist. He played Richard, the on-off tycoon boyfriend of Kim Cattrall's character in Sex and the City, Ajax in The Warriors (1979), maniac Albert Ganz in the thriller 48 Hrs. (1982), gangster Dutch Schultz in The Cotton Club (1984), Lord Raiden in Mortal Kombat: Annihilation (1997), Jack Duff in Miracle on 34th Street (1994) and Harry Morgan in the Showtime series Dexter. Since 2009, he has done voice-over work in ads for Lexus luxury cars. Remar studied acting at the Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre in New York City.

Heller also had a starring role as Carol in the 1979 made-for-TV movie, Can You Hear the Laughter? The Story of Freddie Prinze. On October 2, 2013, Wilfred was renewed for a ten-episode fourth and final season. The series moved to FX's sister network FXX with first two episodes back-to-back on June 25, 2014 and the final two episodes aired on August 13. David Zuckerman, who served as showrunner for the first two seasons, returned as co-showrunner after stepping down in season 3. The roles of Catherine and Bruce had to be recast after Mary Steenburgen and Dwight Yoakam were unable to reprise their respective roles due to scheduling conflict, and they were replace by Mimi Rodgers and William Balwin.

Mary Nell Steenburgen is an American actress and singer. She won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress and Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress for playing the role of Lynda Dummar in Jonathan Demme's 1980 film Melvin and Howard.
The crew was given warning well ahead of time so the show's creators could tie up loose ends with the final season. [7] The decision to end the series was ultimately made by FX. Jason Gann was intent on continuing the series stating, "We would have kept going. I think you would have to be crazy to quit a job like this." [8] The return of show runner David Zuckerman, coupled with the focus on answering some of the show's deeper mythological questions, prevented Gann from writing any episodes in the final season. [8]
Elijah Wood has stated that "Answers" is one of his favorite episodes of the series saying "I read the season kind of in order and I read like one through three and then I read four and it just totally blew my mind." [9] His friend has taken the basement set and recreated it at his house. Wood himself has possession of a stuffed bear and a bong made from a Gatorade bottle, both featured prominently throughout the series. [9]
