Sung Nien-yu (Chinese :宋念宇; pinyin :Sòng Niànyǔ; born 22 November 1983), better known by his stage name Xiao Yu (Chinese :小宇; pinyin :Xiǎo yǔ), is a Taiwanese singer, songwriter, and record producer.

Career

Most of Xiao Yu's early career was spent behind the scenes, writing and producing music for numerous Mandarin singers. He released his debut album Classmate Xiao Yu That's Me in 2008 which garnered widespread acclaim. This was followed up with the 2009 release of the album Standing Here where the album spent twenty-one consecutive weeks in the G-Music top twenty album sales chart. [1] In 2013, he received a nomination for Best Mandarin Male Singer at the 24th Golden Melody Awards for One More Time. After a 5-year break from music, to complete his military service and going through restructure of his previous record company, Xiao Yu returned with his fourth studio album in 2017, With You, his first release under Warner Music Taiwan. A-fu

Teng Fu-ju, known by her stage name A-fu, is a Taiwanese singer and songwriter. Prior to her solo debut in the music scene, A-fu was a member of Lazy Bomb, an indie band, and a demo singer. She is known for her cover version of "Nothin' on You" by B.o.B and Bruno Mars, which drew wide attention on YouTube in 2010. In May 2011, A-fu released her debut studio album, That's How It Is, for which she received a nomination for Best New Artist at the 23rd Golden Melody Awards.

The Golden Melody Award for Best Male Mandarin Singer is an award given by the Ministry of Culture of Taiwan. It was first presented in 1990 as Best Male Singer.

The Golden Melody Award for Best Female Mandarin Singer is a Golden Melody Award recognizing outstanding vocal performance by a female in the Mandopop category, the first of which was presented in 1991.

The Golden Melody Award for Best Mandarin Album is an honor presented at the Golden Melody Awards, a ceremony that was established in 1990, to recording artists for quality Mandopop music albums.

The Golden Melody Award for Song of the Year is presented by the Ministry of Culture of Taiwan to honor outstanding vocal recording tracks in the pop music genre. The Song of the Year award is one of the most prestigious categories at the awards presented annually since the 1st Golden Melody Awards in 1990. The Golden Melody Award for Best Vocal Group is an award given by the Ministry of Culture of Taiwan. It was first presented in 1990.

The Golden Melody Award for Best Vocal Recording Album has been awarded since 1990. From 1990 to 1996 there was an award called Best Recording Album designed to honor quality engineering for pop or instrumental recording albums; The award was discontinued from 1997 in a major overhaul of Golden Melody Award categories. Fire EX.

Fire Ex. is a punk rock band from Kaohsiung, Taiwan, founded in 2000, which sings in both Taiwanese Hokkien and Mandarin Chinese. The group consists of Sam (vocals), Orio (guitar), Pipi (bass), and Wu Ti (drums). The band is known for their social activism supporting Taiwanese independence and same-sex marriage.
