Yogyakarta Art Festival (Indonesian: Festival Kesenian Yogyakarta / FKY) is an annual arts festivals held in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. [1] FKY was established on July 7, 1989. [1] Previously, all 24 festivals were held near Fort Vredeburg. [1] Since 2013, FKY has relocated to the Ngasem Market complex. [1]
The Special Region of Yogyakarta is a provincial-level autonomous region of Indonesia in southern Java. It is a semi-enclave that is surrounded by Central Java to the west, north, and east except for a long coastline of the Indian Ocean to the south.

Reog or Réyog is a traditional Indonesian dance in an open arena that serves as folk entertainment, contains magical elements, the main dancer is a lion-headed person with a peacock feather decoration, plus several masked dancers and Kuda Lumping. Reog is one of the performing arts from the northwestern region of East Java and Ponorogo is the region where Reog originated. The city gate of Ponorogo is decorated with warok and gemblak, two characters who were present at the time when Reog is performed. Reog is one of Indonesia culture that is still very strong with mystical elements and mysticism.
Danarto was an Indonesian writer and artist. His father was Jakio Harjodinomo, a sugar factory foreman. His mother, named Siti Aminah, was small batik trader in the market. His work is well known; especially a collection of short stories: Godlob. Another collection of short stories, Adam Ma'rifat, won the Literature Prize of the Dewan Kesenian Jakarta in 1982. In 2009 Danarto accepted the Ahmad Bakrie Award for literature.

Darmanto Jatman was an Indonesian poet and writer. He was an Emeritus Professor at the Faculty of Psychology, Diponegoro University (UNDIP), Semarang. He was known as a humanist, philosopher and poet of Indonesia. He gave birth to the establishment of the Faculty of Psychology at UNDIP and became the first professor in the faculty. On 27 July 2007, Susilo Wibowo of UNDIP gave him the title of Professor, exactly a month before he retired, so that he was immediately given the title of Emeritus Professor.

Bali Arts Festival or PKB is an annual arts festival in Bali, Indonesia that celebrates, preserves and develops Balinese art and culture. First held in 1979 it has become Indonesia's longest-running arts festival. The month-long event begins with an inaugural parade usually held on the grounds of the Bajra Sandhi Monument and continues in its main venue, Taman Werdhi Budaya Art Centre, Denpasar. Traditional Balinese artists perform daily, as do performers from other parts of Indonesia and other countries. The festival also features competitions, seminars, and exhibitions of art, handicrafts and authentic Balinese cuisine.
Raphael Wregas Bhanuteja is an Indonesian film director and screenwriter. In 2016, Wregas became the first Indonesian director to win an award at Cannes Film Festival, for his short film Prenjak.
Dolorosa Sinaga is an Indonesian sculptor, feminist and human rights activist. She was previously dean of the faculty of fine arts at the Institut Kesenian Jakarta and founder of the Somalaing Art Studio which she has operated in Jakarta since 1987. Her works appear in the National Gallery of Indonesia and internationally.
The Jogja-NETPAC Asian Film Festival (JAFF) is an annual film festival held in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The festival has partnered with the Network for the Promotion of Asian Cinema (NETPAC) since its inaugural edition in 2006. It aims to introduce Asian cinema to a wider audience and provides a space for arts, culture, and tourism.
