Yoon Bo-ra (born December 30, 1989), better known by the mononym Bora, is a South Korean singer, rapper and actress. She is a former member of the South Korean girl group Sistar and its sub-group Sistar19.
Bora was born on December 30, 1989, [1] in Seoul. She majored in Musical Theater in Myongji University, and graduated in February 2015. [2]
In June 2010, Bora made her debut as a member of Sistar on KBS' Music Bank with their debut single, Push Push. [3]
In 2011, Bora and group member Hyolyn formed as a sub-group Sistar19 with the single "Ma Boy". [4]
On October 17, 2011, it was revealed that Bora would be part of the new season of KBS2's Invincible Youth . The first episode of Invincible Youth 2 aired on November 11. [5]
On October 21, 2012, it was revealed that Bora would join one of four groups that would perform a new song for the SBS' Gayo Daejeon music spectacular. As part of Mystic White, Bora released the charity song "Mermaid Princess" on December 26, 2012. [6]
In 2013, Bora joined SBS's fashion program Fashion King Korea, where the cast members would team up with professional fashion designers to design and produce fashion items. [7] The same year, she was announced as a fixed host for KBS' music program Music Bank alongside Park Seo-joon. In 2014, Bora made her acting debut in medical drama Doctor Stranger . [9]
In January 2015, Bora was the new MC for KBS2's fashion and beauty show, A Style For You together with Heechul, Hara, and Hani. [10] In April, she collaborated with Unpretty Rapstar contestants Kisum, Lil Cham, Jace, and male artist Adoonga for a hip-hop single titled "Feedback". In June 2016, Bora was a contestant of Mnet's dance competition show, Hit the Stage . [15]
In March 2017, it was announced that Bora would make her big screen debut in the family comedy film Sunkist Family. [16] In June 2017, Bora signed a contract under Hook Entertainment as an actress going by her full name, leaving Starship Entertainment after seven years of being in Sistar. In January 2020, Bora was cast in SBS' Dr. Romantic Season 2.[ citation needed ] In August 2020, It was revealed that Bora has left Hook Entertainment and signed with KeyEast Entertainment.[ citation needed ] In October 2020, Bora was announced as the ambassador of AIA Vitality.[ citation needed ] In November 2020, it was announced that Bora was cast in MBC's Late Night Café Season 2, Hit Up! In January 2021, it was revealed that Bora will be the host for GlanceTV's beauty show, Unnie's Beauty Carpool together with Hyoyeon.[ citation needed ]
In December 2023, Bora joined the global platform Dear U 'Bubble' where artist and fans can share private messages. [19]
In 2012, Bora has demonstrated a remarkable commitment to various social causes, earning her an esteemed reputation as an ambassador for several organizations and initiatives. She was honored as an ambassador for her hometown, Ansan City, using her influence to promote the city's charm and cultural significance. Her environmental consciousness led to her appointment as the Green Campus Ambassador for Gyeonggi-do, where she advocated for sustainable practices and eco-friendly initiatives in educational institutions. Additionally, Bora's concern for public health was highlighted when she served as the Emergency Medical Ambassador for the Ministry of Health and Welfare in 2015. The KBS Entertainment Awards is an event held yearly and is sponsored by KBS. The awards ceremony is approximately 140 minutes long and is shown in two parts on KBS2. Sistar was a South Korean girl group formed in 2010 by Starship Entertainment. The group consisted of Hyolyn, Bora, Soyou and Dasom. They made their official debut with the song "Push Push" on 3 June 2010. Their debut studio album So Cool was released on 9 August 2011. Their second album, Give It to Me, was released on 11 June 2013. Their biggest hits include "So Cool", "Alone", "Touch My Body", "Loving U" and "Give It to Me". Their fourth single, "So Cool," debuted at number one on the Gaon Digital Chart as well as the Billboard Korea K-Pop Hot 100 singles chart, starting a streak of 9 consecutive number-one hits before the group's disbandment in 2017.
Jang Yoon-ju is a South Korean model, television personality, singer-songwriter and actress. Yoon-ju began modeling in 1997 when she was 17 years old, and became one of the most successful Korean fashion models, with a career spanning almost two decades. She also hosts Korea's Next Top Model, and won Best Radio DJ at the 2013 KBS Entertainment Awards for KBS Cool FM's Rooftop Radio. Their debut single "Ma Boy" was released in May 2011. Their second and most successful single "Gone Not Around Any Longer" was released in 2013, with an EP with the same title. The sub-group originally disbanded on June 4, 2017, alongside the main group. In November 2023, the group announced plans for a comeback in January 2024, with their single "No More ".

Give It to Me is the second and final studio album by South Korean girl group Sistar. The album was released on June 11, 2013, by Starship Entertainment and distributed by LOEN Entertainment, with the song of the same title used as the promotional song. The album contains 11 songs.

It is based on a novel of the same name by Mitsuyo Kakuta, which was previously made into a movie and TV series in Japan. The series is an original drama of Genie TV, and is available for streaming on its platform, and on TVING. It also aired on ENA from April 10 to May 9, 2023, every Monday and Tuesday at 22:00 (KST).
