Duck Lake State Park is a public recreation area covering 728 acres (295 ha) on Lake Michigan five miles (8.0 km) southwest of Whitehall in Muskegon County, Michigan. The state park, which runs along the north side of Duck Lake to Lake Michigan, features a large sand dune. The park's Scenic Drive is part of the Shoreline Trail route in Muskegon County.

The state park offers nearly 4 miles (6.4 km) of shoreline with opportunities for swimming, fishing, boating, and hiking in addition to views of the Fourteen Foot Shoal Light, the ruins of the 1859 Cheboygan Point Light, and a distant view of the Poe Reef Light, some six miles to the northeast.
Clear Lake State Park is a public recreation area covering 290 acres (120 ha) in Canada Creek Ranch, Montmorency County, Michigan. The state park occupies two-thirds of the shoreline of spring-fed, 133-acre (54 ha) Clear Lake. It is located within Mackinaw State Forest, which covers the northern eight counties of the Lower Peninsula.
Coldwater Lake State Park is an undeveloped public recreation area occupying 400 acres (160 ha) on the south shore of Coldwater Lake, ten miles (16 km) south of the city of Coldwater in Branch County, Michigan. Money from the Natural Resources Trust Funds was used to create the state park in 1988. Two small, unpaved parking areas offer walk-in access for hunters and fishermen. A general management plan for the park was adopted by the Michigan State Parks Advisory Committee in 2015.

Fisherman's Island State Park is a public recreation area of 2,678 acres (1,084 ha) sitting on six miles (9.7 km) of Lake Michigan shoreline southwest of Charlevoix, Michigan. It is named for a small piece of land, Fisherman Island, located some 900 feet (270 m) from the mainland. For most of the period from 1998 to 2016, historically low lake levels resulted in the island becoming attached to the mainland via a tombolo. The park's interior terrain consists largely of rolling dunes covered with maple, birch and aspen broken up by bogs of cedar and black spruce. The park is operated by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources.
Walter J. Hayes State Park is a public recreation area covering 654 acres (265 ha) on the southeast corner of Wamplers Lake in the Irish Hills region of the state of Michigan. Most of the state park lies within Lenawee County with a small portion extending into Jackson and Washtenaw counties in the Round Lake area. The park offers access to 796-acre (322 ha) Wamplers Lake and completely surrounds 100-acre (40 ha) Round Lake, which connects to Wamplers Lake via a channel navigable by smaller boats. Other scenic lakes including Evans Lake and Sand Lake as well as chains of smaller lakes lie nearby. The park is traversed by Michigan Route 124 north of its intersection with US Highway 12.
Indian Lake State Park is a public recreation area covering 567 acres (229 ha) in Schoolcraft County on the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The state park is made up of two units that are three miles apart, one on the south shore of Indian Lake, one on the west shore.

Thompson's Harbor State Park is a remote and largely undeveloped public recreation area on Lake Huron covering 5,109 acres (2,068 ha) in Presque Isle County, Michigan. The state park's seven point five miles (12.1 km) of pristine shoreline encompass a varying terrain of second growth forest, limestone cobble beaches, and deep sand dunes. The park's flora and fauna include a large population of dwarf lake iris as well as more than one hundred bird species, coyotes, deer, and possibly black bear. The park offers six miles (9.7 km) of trails for hikers and cross-country skiers, rustic cabins, and opportunities for sea kayaking. The park was designated a Michigan "dark sky preserve" in 2016.
Sturgeon Point State Park is an undeveloped public recreation area that is home to the historic Sturgeon Point Light. The state park covers 76 acres (31 ha) on the shore of Lake Huron three miles (4.8 km) north of Harrisville in Alcona County, Michigan. In addition to the lighthouse and associated museum, the park features a long and shallow reef that juts into Lake Huron and extends for almost a full mile. The park is used for lighthouse visits, swimming, and viewing various Michigan flora and fauna.
Seven Lakes State Park is a public recreation area covering 1,434 acres (580 ha) one mile northwest of Holly in Holly Township, Oakland County, Michigan. The state park's 230 acres (93 ha) of water are found in six named lakes that include 170-acre Big Seven Lake, Little Seven Lake, and 44-acre Dickinson Lake.
Watkins Lake State Park and County Preserve is a combination public recreation area and nature preserve located five miles west of Manchester in Jackson and Washtenaw counties, Michigan. The area occupies a total of 1,122 acres (454 ha), with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources owning 717 acres (290 ha) in Norvell Township, Jackson County, and Washtenaw County owning 405 acres (164 ha) in Manchester Township. Dedicated in 2017, it is under the joint management of the Michigan DNR and the Washtenaw County Parks & Recreation Commission. A five-mile former rail corridor runs through the park and into grasslands in the eastern portion of the preserve.
