The 2012–13 season is the 17th edition of Europe's premier basketball tournament for women – EuroLeague Women since it was rebranded to its current format.
The EuroLeague Women is the highest professional basketball league in Europe for women's clubs.
Regular season groups started on 24 October 2012 and finished on 6 February 2013. [1]

Game 1 will be played on 19 February 2013. Game 2 will be played on 22 February 2013. Game 3 will be played on 27 February 2013. The team that won two games first, advanced to the quarterfinals. UMMC Ekaterinburg qualified directly to the quarterfinals as hoster of the Final Eight.
BC UMMC Ekaterinburg is a Russian women's basketball team based in Yekaterinburg competing in the Russian Premier League and FIBA Europe's Euroleague. It has been a highly successful team in recent years.

The Final Eight will be held in Yekaterinburg. The Quarter-Final Round will be played in a round robin system with two groups of four teams. The two group winners will advance to the Semi-Final Round.
Yekaterinburg, alternatively romanised Ekaterinburg, is the fourth-largest city in Russia and the administrative centre of Sverdlovsk Oblast, located on the Iset River east of the Ural Mountains, in the middle of the Eurasian continent, on the Asian side of the boundary between Asia and Europe. It is the main cultural and industrial centre of the oblast. In 2017, it had an estimated population of 1,488,791. Yekaterinburg has been dubbed the "third capital of Russia", as it is ranked third by the size of economy, culture, transportation and tourism. It is located about 1,420 kilometres (880 mi) to the east of Moscow.

Diana Lorena Taurasi is an American professional basketball player for the Phoenix Mercury of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) and UMMC Ekaterinburg of Russia. Taurasi has won three WNBA championships, one WNBA Most Valuable Player Award (2009), two WNBA Finals MVP Awards, four Olympic gold medals,, five scoring titles, and the WNBA Rookie of the Year Award (2004). She has also been selected to seven WNBA All-Star teams and nine All-WNBA teams. She is one of 10 women to win an Olympic Gold Medal, an NCAA Championship and a WNBA Championship. In 2011, she was voted by fans as one of the WNBA's Top 15 Players of All Time. On June 18, 2017, Taurasi became the WNBA all-time leading scorer.
2008–09 Eurocup Basketball was the seventh edition of Europe's second-tier level transnational competition for men's professional basketball clubs, the EuroCup, and the first to be contested under the Eurocup name. From the inception of the competition in 2002, it had been known as the ULEB Cup. The EuroCup is the European-wide league level that is one tier below the EuroLeague level.
