Arts & Crafts Mexico is an independent record label based in Mexico City. It is a branch of the Toronto-based company Arts & Crafts Productions. [1] It started business in 2008, when Jeffrey Remedios and Kevin Drew decided to open an office abroad, in order to promote the independent music scene in Mexico. [2] They produce records, as well as license material from other international labels. [3]
An independent record label is a record label that operates without the funding of major record labels. Many artists begin their careers on independent labels.

It is located in the Valley of Mexico, a large valley in the high plateaus in the center of Mexico, at an altitude of 2,240 meters (7,350 ft). The city has 16 boroughs.
Arts & Crafts Productions is a music-focused media and artist services company that offers information as an independent record label, management firm, merchandiser, and publisher worldwide. It has earned 21 Juno Awards. Arts & Crafts has been called one of Canada's most important record labels.
Jeffery Remedios and Kevin Drew founded the label in 2002. [4] One goal was to create a family relationship between the artists and the label. [5] They concentrate on creating an environment that is not only composed of high quality bands, but that is also familiar and welcoming. Arts & Crafts opened a satellite office in Mexico City in 2008.
Arts & Crafts México focuses on supporting national and international talent, as well as the local independent music community. During the past years, they have released records of local bands such as Rey Pila, Torreblanca, Los Odio!, Chikita Violenta, Bam Bam, I Can Chase Dragons! and Movus. [6]

Barenaked Ladies is a Canadian rock band, formed in 1988 in Scarborough, Ontario. The band quickly developed a cult following in Canada, with their self-titled 1991 cassette becoming the first independent release ever to be certified gold in Canada. Their debut with Reprise Records, Gordon, featuring the singles "If I Had $1000000" and "Brian Wilson", was released in 1992.

The band consists of Nils Edenloff on lead vocals and guitar, Amy Cole on keyboards, bass, and backing vocals, and Paul Banwatt on drums. They have released four albums and are signed to Paper Bag Records in Canada and Saddle Creek Records internationally. In 2011 they were nominated for a Polaris Music Prize.
Chikita Violenta is a Mexican indie rock band from Mexico City. The band members are Luis Arce, Andrés Velasco, Esteban Suárez and Armando David. They all met in high school between 1994 and 1997. Since the beginning of the band, Chikita Violenta looked for a sound close to the college rock, which can be related to bands such as Pavement, Sonic Youth, Built To Spill and Tortoise.
TRE3S is the third studio album by Chikita Violenta, released in early 2011, to a mix of mild and enthusiastic reviews. Spin magazine gave the album 7 out of 10 stars, stating "While the production's scope doesn't quite fit Chikita Violenta's knack for scrappy Superchunk-style guitar pop, the busy shimmer usually complements the songs' energy instead of burying it." Scott Fallon of the Bergen County Record gave it four out of four stars, calling it "the first great album of 2011," and, noting producer Newfeld's work with Broken Social Scene, wrote "Chikita Violenta has taken the whole lo-fi anthemic pop thing to heart."

Mushy Callahan is a Canadian indie rock band based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The band's lineup consists of four members: Lucas, Joel, Noah and Jacob McCann and has remained constant since the band became active in 2010.All of the band members are brothers from a small town in Northern Alberta called Peace River.
