The Chinese Manufacturers' Association of Hong Kong (CMA; Chinese :香港中華廠商聯合會) is a not-for-profit chamber of commerce established in 1934 and one of the most representative industrial associations in Hong Kong. With over 3,000 member companies from various sectors of industry and trade. [1] It was most well-known of its annual Hong Kong Brands & Products Expo. Since 1985 the CMA has representative in the Legislative Council of Hong Kong through the Industrial (Second) functional constituency.

Traditional Chinese characters are Chinese characters in any character set that does not contain newly created characters or character substitutions performed after 1946. A chamber of commerce is a form of business network, for example, a local organization of businesses whose goal is to further the interests of businesses. Business owners in towns and cities form these local societies to advocate on behalf of the business community. Local businesses are members, and they elect a board of directors or executive council to set policy for the chamber. The board or council then hires a President, CEO or Executive Director, plus staffing appropriate to size, to run the organization.

The Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), also known as the People's PCC or simply the PCC (政协), is a political legislative advisory body in the People's Republic of China. Election Committee Hong Kong electoral college

The Election Committee is a Hong Kong electoral college, the function of which is to select the Chief Executive (CE). Established by Annex I of the Basic Law of Hong Kong which states that "the Chief Executive shall be elected by a broadly representative Election Committee in accordance with this Law and appointed by the Central People's Government." It is formed and performs its selection function once every five years, even in the event of a CE not completing their term. It has 1,200 members for the 2017 election. The Election Committee has been criticised for its "small-circle" electoral basis and its composition favouring pro-Beijing and business interests.

The Outward Processing Arrangement (OPA) concerns the textile industry in Hong Kong and the People's Republic of China. It states that Hong Kong manufacturers can subcontract subsidiary and finishing processes to mainland factories, as long as the "major transformation" of the garment takes place in Hong Kong. Major transformation, however, only needs to amount to 10% of total cloth processing. Any products exported to China for outward processing must be reimported to Hong Kong within 2 months. Effective from 10 June 2005, Hong Kong manufacturers can apply to the Trade and Industry Department of Hong Kong for exemption of export duty in association with the processed garments as they are being exported from China.

Hong Kong Trade Development Council organization

The Hong Kong Trade Development Council is a statutory body established in 1966 as the international marketing dedicated to creating opportunities for Hong Kong's businesses. The organisation has 50 offices around the world, including 13 on the Chinese mainland. With more than 50 years of experience, its mission is to explore opportunities for Hong Kong companies, especially small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and connect them with business partners around the world.

Hong Kong Brands and Products Expo

Hong Kong Brands and Products Expo is a large expo of local products held annually in Hong Kong, at Victoria Park. It was originally established in 1938, and was renamed as Hong Kong Brands and Products Expo in 1994. It is organised by The Chinese Manufacturers' Association of Hong Kong (CMA).

Chen Hsong Holdings Limited was established by Dr. Chiang Chen in Hong Kong in 1958. After half a century, Chen Hsong has grown from a small machinery workshop to one of the largest manufacturers of injection moulding machines in the world. It has a customer base covering more than 65 countries worldwide including China, Taiwan, the United States, Canada, France, the United Kingdom, Brazil, Argentina, Mexico and most S.E. Asian countries. The clamping force is from 20 tons to 6,500 tons and injection rate is from 28.4 gram to 106,000 gram. Chen Hsong is the only plastic injection moulding machine manufacturer of its kind that serves customers 24 hours a day, 365 days a year in after sales and maintenance service in China. Chen Hsong does development, manufacture and sales of injection molding machines, mold machining systems, auto-molding systems, etc.

Andrew Leung Hong Kong politician

Andrew Leung Kwan-yuen, GBS, JP is the current President of the Legislative Council of Hong Kong (Legco), representing the Industrial (First) functional constituency. From October 2012 to October 2016, he was the chairman of Business and Professionals Alliance for Hong Kong (BPA), the second largest party in the legislature.

1988 Hong Kong legislative election

The 1988 Hong Kong Legislative Council election was an indirect election for members of the Legislative Council of Hong Kong (LegCo); was held on 22 September 1988. It was the second ever election of the Legislative Council in Hong Kong history based on the 1987 Review of Developments in Representative Government, as the Government's democratisation process according to the agreement of the Sino-British Joint Declaration. There were 12 members elected by Electoral Colleges, 14 members from functional constituencies.

James Wu Man-hon OBE, JP was a Hong Kong businessman and an unofficial member of the Legislative Council of Hong Kong.

Jimmy Ng Wing-ka, JP is a solicitor and businessman in Hong Kong. He is the vice-president of the Chinese Manufacturers' Association of Hong Kong (CMAHK). In the 2016 Legislative Council election, Ng ran unopposed in the CMAHK's Industrial (Second) functional constituency, succeeding Lam Tai-fai in the seat.
