Twisted Nerve Records was a Manchester, England-based record label, founded by Damon Gough (AKA Badly Drawn Boy) and Andy Votel.

The term "record label" derives from the circular label in the center of a vinyl record which prominently displays the manufacturer's name, along with other information. Within the mainstream music industry, recording artists have traditionally been reliant upon record labels to broaden their consumer base, market their albums, and be both promoted and heard on music streaming services, radio, and television. Record labels also provide publicists, who assist performers in gaining positive media coverage, and arrange for their merchandise to be available via stores and other media outlets.

Best known for being the home of Badly Drawn Boy and Alfie, the label was active between 1997 and 2012.

Alfie were an English indie rock band, formed in 1998 in Manchester. The band were composed of singer Lee Gorton, guitarist-vocalist Ian Smith, drummer Sean Kelly, bassist Sam Morris and cellist-guitarist Matt McGeever.

Badly Drawn Boy British singer-songwriter

Damon Michael Gough, known by the stage name Badly Drawn Boy, is an English indie singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist.

Dave Tyack, who also recorded under the name Dakota Oak, was an English musician and a founding artist on the Twisted Nerve Records label. He recorded alongside fellow Twisted Nerve artists Badly Drawn Boy and Andy Votel on several releases and played drums with two further bands, Misty Dixon and D.O.T. Tyack was also an accomplished artist and his own drawings featured on the covers of most of his records.

Aidan Smith is a Scottish footballer who plays for Annan Athletic and is a striker. Smith has previously played for Queen of the South, as well as Annan on loan.

Born in the U.K. is the fifth album released by the singer-songwriter Badly Drawn Boy, real name Damon Gough, released on 16 October 2006. The album's title is a reference to Bruce Springsteen’s 1984 album Born in the U.S.A.. Gough is a big fan of Springsteen, citing his work as an inspiration for his music.

The discography of English alternative music singer/songwriter Badly Drawn Boy includes eight studio albums, one compilation, six extended plays and twenty-one singles. The first EP and several singles were released on Gough's own label "Twisted Nerve", which he started with like-minded Manchester musician Andy Votel. Badly Drawn Boy rose in popularity in 1997 when he joined the likes of Thom Yorke, Richard Ashcroft, and Mike D on the celebrity-filled UNKLE album Psyence Fiction. Due to the mild UK chart success of the 1999 single "Once Around the Block", XL Recordings signed up Badly Drawn Boy to release the debut album The Hour of Bewilderbeast in 2000. Voice of the Seven Woods is a musical project of Bolton based musician Rick Tomlinson. The project is most commonly associated with the Manchester alternative music scene, and is regularly associated with the B-Music collective; a Manchester based DJ, Music and Arts collaboration that includes DJ Andy Votel, Super Furry Animals's frontman Gruff Rhys and various other DJs & artists.

Cedar is the debut EP from Doves, the first release from the band after the dissolution of their previous incarnation, Sub Sub. It was self-released on the band's Casino Records label on 9 November 1998 on limited 10" vinyl. The epic track "The Cedar Room" later became the band's first single from their debut album Lost Souls. Following the release of the Cedar EP, Doves briefly joined Badly Drawn Boy as his backing band.
