Wornell Jones (born November 14) is an American bassist. He has performed with many people and groups in the United States and Japan, including likes of Sly and the Family Stone, Koko Taylor, Chage and Aska, Hiromi Go, and Omega Tribe. [1]
He is sometimes given the nickname "The Sonic Prince" from the live album Night After Night by Nils Lofgren, which he participated in. [2]
Jones was born in Washington, D.C., and grew up in one of its neighborhoods. [3] He started playing with the Palatons before going into various clubs and playing with blues musicians, including guitarist Bobby Parker. He started venturing into playing in studio sessions via one of the Bon Jovi brothers. [4]
Jones became a member of the Young Senators in the 70's, being the bassist for their debut single "Jungle" in 1971. [5] In 1972, the band joined singer Eddie Kendricks as his backing band as well as his recording band for People ... Hold On released that same year. [6]
In 1975, Jones helped with Nils Lofgren's debut album Nils Lofgren . [7] In 1977, he was hired to play bass for Lofgren's fourth studio album, I Came to Dance as his suggestions in 1976 and 1977 led to the creation of the album. [8] In 1979, he released his self-titled debut album, which was popular in the United Kingdom. Maxayn Lewis, a backing singer, participated in the album and would later be with Jones in Omega Tribe. In the early 80's, he moved to Japan. In 1987, Jones became the bassist for 1986 Omega Tribe after their previous backing bassist, Shigeru Watanabe, left. He met with fellow backing members Marty Bracey and Teruo Gotō and continued playing with the band until their disbandment in 1991.
In 2015, Jones, along with Bracey, Gotō, Tomoharu Hani and Nishiyama "Hank" Fumio, formed the jazz band B-EDGE. [10] [11] On November 11, 2015, they released their debut album Easy Loving You, which included a single with former Psy-S singer Mami "Chaka" Yasunori. [12] From 2017 to 2019, Carlos Toshiki temporarily joined the band for tours as the lead vocalist, and they renamed themselves Carlos Toshiki & B-EDGE. [13] After the Tour Final de Verão 2019, Toshiki returned to Brazil and the band kept playing gigs at clubs. [14] They released their third album Meteo on March 11, 2020. [15]

Nils Hilmer Lofgren is an American rock musician, recording artist, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. Along with his work as a solo artist, he has been a member of Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band since 1984, a member of Crazy Horse, and founder/frontman of the band Grin. Lofgren was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of the E Street Band in 2014.
Night After Night is the second live album by Nils Lofgren, released in 1977. It was released as a double LP.
Flip is a 1985 solo album from Nils Lofgren, longtime guitarist for Neil Young and Bruce Springsteen. The sound is typical of the style of the mid-'80s, with a heavy emphasis on the snare drum sound, Lofgren's guitar, and plenty of synthesizer. The name of the album reflects his signature trampoline 'flips' performed on stage whilst playing guitar solos.
Omega Tribe was a Japanese soft rock and city pop project that was led by producer Koichi Fujita, with the bands being handled by industry veterans Tetsuji Hayashi, Tsunehiro Izumi, and Hiroshi Shinkawa at different points of the band's existence. The project was active from the early 1980s to the late 1990s, having several hits during its lifespan with the help of lyricists, composers, and arrangers. The band underwent several core member changes as well as name changes, with the band changing vocalists three times with the introductions of Kiyotaka Sugiyama in 1983, Carlos Toshiki in 1986, and Masahito Arai in 1993. The band has also had many offshoot bands that have stemmed from members collaborating. Many of the band's works were focused on themes of summer, sea, and resorts, making them one of the leading bands with summer songs along with Southern All Stars and Tube. They have also been called one of the pioneers of Japanese soft rock in the 1980s.
Kiyotaka Sugiyama is a Japanese singer-songwriter known for being the lead vocalist of S. Kiyotaka & Omega Tribe. Debuting in 1983 with the band, Sugiyama began his solo career in 1986 after the band's disbandment the previous year. As the lead singer of S. Kiyotaka & Omega Tribe, he was the lead voice on songs such as "Summer Suspicion" and "Futari no Natsu Monogatari", while as a solo artist he has had multiple hit songs including "Sayonara Ocean", "Saigo no Holy Night", and "Mizu no Naka no Answer".
Carlos Toshiki Takahashi is an Japanese Brazilian singer and farmer known for being the singer for the Japanese band Omega Tribe from 1986 to 1991. During his time as the lead vocalist of Omega Tribe, he was known for having a soft voice, with the singles "Kimi wa 1000%" and "Aquamarine no Mama de Ite" being hit singles on the Oricon charts.

B-EDGE are a Japanese-American jazz band based in Japan. The band currently consists of drummer and leader Marty Bracey, bassist Wornell Jones, saxophonist and percussionist Teruo Gotō, pianist Tomoharu Hani, and guitarist Nishiyama "Hank" Fumio. The group would be joined by former Omega Tribe vocalist Carlos Toshiki on multiple occasions and officially from 2017 to 2019.

"Dōshite Suki to Itte Kurenai no" is the fourth single by Carlos Toshiki & Omega Tribe released by VAP on July 21, 1989. The song was used as the theme song and ending song for the Tokyo Broadcasting System program Hitachi Sekai Fushigi Hakken!, later being used in the band's third album Bad Girl. The B-side, "Buraindo Purofīru" was used in the band's compilation album Our Graduation. The song charted at No. 24 on the Oricon charts.
"Toki wa Kagerō" is the sixth and final single by Carlos Toshiki & Omega Tribe released by Warner Pioneer on June 25, 1990. It is the band's only single after transferring to Warner Pioneer from VAP, with Warner Pioneer re-releasing all Carlos Toshiki & Omega Tribe songs and albums under the label. This song was written by singer Yumi Matsutoya, with Matsutoya covering it with her album Tengoku no Door the same year. Carlos Toshiki, the band's singer, uses the Portuguese words "ilusão" and "solidão" in the lyrics, meaning "illusion" and "solitude," while Matsutoya sings it in English. The song's B-side, "Tsūauto Furubēsu", was composed by the band's guitarist, Shinji Takashima, and written by Yasuharu Konishi.

Japanese city pop band Omega Tribe have gone through four official name changes from its inception in 1983: Kiyotaka Sugiyama & Omega Tribe (1983–1985), 1986 Omega Tribe (1986–1987), Carlos Toshiki & Omega Tribe (1987–1991), and Brand New Omega Tribe (1993–1994). Throughout the Omega Tribe eras, the bands have released twelve studio albums and 21 singles.
