FIBA Europe is the administrative body for basketball in Europe, within the International Basketball Federation (FIBA), which includes all 50 national European basketball federations.

FIBA Europe is one of five Regions of FIBA and is responsible for controlling and developing the sport of basketball in Europe. Among many tasks, this includes promoting, supervising and directing international competition at the club and national team levels, as well as governing and appointing European international referees. FIBA Europe is an international federation whose membership consists of the national basketball federations of Europe, of which there are currently 50 members. [1]

The highest decision-making body is the Board of FIBA Europe which consists of 25 persons elected by the National Federations. The Board of FIBA Europe meets twice a year and is the executive body which represents all 50 Federations that make up the membership of FIBA Europe. All 50 federations meet once a year at the General Assembly of FIBA Europe. [1]

      FIBA Africa is a zone within the FIBA basketball association which contains all 54 national African FIBA federations. It was founded in 1961. FIBA Africa maintains offices in Cairo and in Abidjan.

      Sport in Serbia includes football, basketball, handball, tennis, volleyball, and water polo. Professional sports in Serbia are organized by sporting federations and leagues. Serbian professional sports includes multi-sport clubs, biggest and most successful of which are Crvena Zvezda, Partizan, Radnički and Beograd in Belgrade, Vojvodina in Novi Sad, Radnički in Kragujevac, Spartak in Subotica. Serbia had successes in basketball, winning the Olympic silver medal and Nikola Jokic winning 2 NBA MVPs, as well as the 2023 NBA Championship and Finals MVP, Novak Djokovic winning a record setting 24th Grand Slam, and in handball, volleyball and water polo as well.

      The FIBA U20 EuroBasket is the new name for the FIBA U20 European Championship, originally known as the European Championship for Men '22 and Under'. It's a men's youth basketball competition that was inaugurated with the 1992 edition. Through the 2004 edition, it was held biennially, but since 2005 edition, it is held every year. The tournament was originally an Under-22 age tournament, but it is now an Under-20 age tournament. The current champions are Spain.

      The FIBA U16 EuroBasket is the new name for the FIBA U16 European Championship, originally known as the FIBA European Championship for Cadets. It's a men's youth basketball competition that was inaugurated with the 1971 edition. Through the 2003 edition, it was held every second year, but since the 2004 edition onward, it is held every year. It serves as the qualification tournament for the FIBA Under-17 World Cup in odd years, for the FIBA Europe region. The current champions are Spain.

      The International Basketball Federation is an association of national organizations which governs the sport of basketball worldwide. FIBA defines the rules of basketball, specifies the equipment and facilities required, organizes international competitions, regulates the transfer of athletes across countries, and controls the appointment of international referees. A total of 212 national federations are members, organized since 1989 into five zones: Africa, Americas, Asia, Europe, and Oceania.

The Turkey women's national under-16 basketball team represents Turkey at the FIBA Europe Under-16 Championship for Women and the Turkey women's national under-17 basketball team at the FIBA Under-17 Women's Basketball World Cup.

      <span class="mw-page-title-main">3x3 basketball</span> Basketball variant played on half of a regulation court

      3x3 basketball is a variation of basketball played three-a-side, with one backboard and in a half-court setup. According to an ESSEC Business School study commissioned by the International Olympic Committee, 3x3 is the largest urban team sport in the world. This basketball game format is currently being promoted and structured by FIBA, the sport's governing body. Its primary competition is an annual FIBA 3X3 World Tour, comprising a series of Masters and one Final tournament, and awarding six-figure prize money in US dollars. The FIBA 3x3 World Cups for men and women are the highest tournaments for national 3x3 teams. The 3x3 format has been adopted for both the 2020 Summer Olympics and 2022 Commonwealth Games.

      The Serbia men's national under-18 basketball team is the boys' basketball team, administered by Basketball Federation of Serbia, that represents Serbia in international under-18 men's basketball competitions, consisting mainly of the FIBA Europe Under-18 Championship. The event was originally referred to as the European Championship for Juniors.

      The Turkey men's national 3x3 team represents Turkey in international 3x3 basketball competitions organized by FIBA. It is governed by the Turkish Basketball Federation.

      Basketballin Slovenia is governed by the Basketball Federation of Slovenia. Slovenia has participated in international basketball as an independent nation since 1991, when the country gained independence from SFR Yugoslavia.

      The Turkey women's national 3x3 team is a national basketball team of Turkey, governed by the Turkish Basketball Federation.

      The 2021 FIBA U16 European Challengers were international basketball competitions which took place from 16 to 21 August 2021, replacing the cancelled 2021 FIBA U16 European Championship. Top two teams from groups A, B and C qualified for the 2022 FIBA Under-17 Basketball World Cup.

      The 2021 FIBA U18 Women's European Challengers were international basketball competitions which took place from 27 July to 1 August 2021, replacing the cancelled 2021 FIBA U18 Women's European Championship.

      The 2021 FIBA U16 Women's European Challengers were international basketball competitions which took place from 9 to 16 August 2021, replacing the cancelled 2021 FIBA U16 Women's European Championship. Top two teams from groups A, B and C qualified for the 2022 FIBA Under-17 Women's Basketball World Cup.
