HMD began marketing Nokia-branded smartphones and feature phones on 1 December 2016. The company has exclusive rights to the Nokia brand for mobile phones through a licensing agreement. The HMD brand was initially only used for corporate purposes and does not appear in advertising, whereas the name "Nokia Mobile" is used on social media. As it was launched, the acronym HMD stood for Hon Hai Mobile Devices. This was in reference to the main shareholder at the time of its creation: the Taiwanese group Foxconn. In January 2024, HMD rebranded to 'Human Mobile Devices', and will use their own branding on future devices alongside that of Nokia.
One UI is a user interface (UI) developed by Samsung Electronics for its Android devices running Android 9 "Pie" and later. Succeeding Samsung Experience and TouchWiz, it is designed to make using larger smartphones easier and be more visually appealing. To provide more clarity, some elements of the UI are tweaked to match colors that are based on the color of the user's phone. It was announced at Samsung Developer Conference in 2018, and was unveiled in Galaxy Unpacked in February 2019 alongside the Galaxy S10 series, Galaxy Buds and the Galaxy Fold.
Moto G8 is a series of Android smartphones developed by Motorola Mobility, a subsidiary of Lenovo. It is the eighth generation of the Moto G family. The G8 Play and G8 Plus were first released in October 2019, only 8 months after the previous generation. Other variants were released in March and April 2020.
The OnePlus Nord is an Android-based smartphone manufactured by OnePlus, unveiled on 21 July 2020. It is the first device in the Nord series. It is the first mid-range smartphone from OnePlus since the 2015 OnePlus X. It is available in Europe, India, Hong Kong, and Malaysia. Android Police has suggested that the OnePlus Nord is only launching in countries where cheap smartphones that can be bought outright are more popular than expensive ones that consumers can only afford via monthly payments and carrier subsidies.
The Xiaomi Mi 10T, Xiaomi Mi 10T Lite and Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro are Android-based smartphones developed by Xiaomi Inc. announced on 30 September 2020, while the Xiaomi Mi 10i, which is based on Mi 10T Lite but with a 64 MP camera, was announced on 5 January 2021.
