Lucía Leticia Méndez Pérez is a Mexican telenovela and film actress, top model and singer. Méndez was born in León, Guanajuato, Mexico.
Los Angeles de Charly is a Mexican cumbia group led by vocalist Carlos Becies. The group was formed in 1999, after Charly Becies and fellow vocalists Guillermo "Memo" Palafox and Jonathan Martínez left the popular group Los Ángeles Azules and have become one of leading exporters of the romantic Mexican cumbia genre. In 2000, the group's ten-track album Un Sueño peaked at No. 29 on the Billboard Independent Albums chart. Their follow-up album Te Voy a Enamorar was released in 2001 and went to number-one on the Billboard Top Latin Albums chart.
ETC is a Chilean cable television channel currently owned by Mega. The channel's slogan is "Todo pasa por Etc...". Launched in 1996, the company was previously owned by Telefilms Ltda. Starting with a low budget, the channel was originally conceived as a "miscellaneous" channel, focusing on children's programming and some North American sitcoms in its first year. In 1997, when the channel aired Sailor Moon and Saint Seiya, it experienced an increase in its ratings, leading it to narrow its focus to include primarily Japanese anime, though, in recent years, it has also added some South Korean programming including K-pop and K-dramas.
Leopoldo Dante Tévez, known as Leo Dan, is an Argentine composer and singer born in Villa Atamisqui, Santiago del Estero Province. He recorded more than 20 albums during his long career during the late 20th century between Argentina and Mexico. His appreciation for Mexican music led him to record with mariachis, and from there, he went to international fame. His music was well received by the Mexican public since his voice was a good match to the traditional mariachi sound.
Luis Segura, is a popular traditional Dominican singer who refers to himself as 'The Father of Bachata'. He is considered one of the best interpreters of traditional bachata with hits like "Pena por ti", "Dicen", and "No me celes tanto". Segura's first recordings were in the 1960s but it wasn't until his release of "Pena por ti" in the early 1970s that Segura hit stardom.
Gian Marco Javier Zignago Alcóver is a Peruvian musician and actor. He has won the Latin Grammy Award for the Best Singer-Songwriter Album three times. First in 2005 for his album Resucitar, in 2011 for his album Días Nuevos, and in 2012 for his album 20 Años. Gian Marco was named UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador in Peru.

Modesto Llosas Rosell known professionally as Jorge Mistral was a Spanish film actor. During the 1940s, he became a star in films produced by CIFESA. In the 1950s, he lived and worked in México and appeared in Luis Buñuel's Abismos de pasión in 1954. Later, in the 1960s, he directed three films.

Originally launched as the Billboard Latin Music Conference in 1990, the first awards began in 1994. In addition to awards given on the basis of success on the Billboard charts, the ceremony includes the Spirit of Hope award for humanitarian achievements and the Lifetime Achievement award, as well as awards by the broadcasting partner.
