Kerala Vision is a private Malayalam 24-hour General Entertainment and News channel promoted by Kerala Communications Cable Ltd. The majority of the shares are owned by the members of Cable Operators Association (COA).

History

In 2006, KCCL launched its first project - Kerala Vision Channel; through this initiative, KCCL brought all independent cable networks of Kerala under a common brand name Kerala Vision. It is the first IP TV (Internet Protocol TV) technology-enabled Cable channel in India. Kerala Vision channel operates from its leased studio complex located at Kadavanthra, Kochi, with an area of 3,000 sq ft (280 m2). It has two fully equipped studio floors apart from Transmission Unit and offices of both KCCL and Channel.

Thiruvananthapuram has long been a center of media. Kerala Chandrika, the first newspaper of the state, was published from Thiruvananthapuram in 1789. The media also enjoyed the patronage of the Travancore kings. In 1836, Swathi Thirunal, the Travancore king, organized a government press in the city.
