Juri Lotman was a prominent Russian-Estonian literary scholar, semiotician, and historian of Russian culture, who worked at the University of Tartu. He was elected a member of the British Academy (1977), Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters (1987), Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences (1989) and Estonian Academy of Sciences (1990). He was a founder of the Tartu–Moscow Semiotic School. The number of his printed works exceeds 800 titles. His archive which includes his correspondence with a number of Russian and Western intellectuals, is immense.

John Deely was an American philosopher and semiotician. He was a professor of philosophy at Saint Vincent College and Seminary in Latrobe, Pennsylvania. Prior to this, he held the Rudman Chair of Graduate Philosophy at the Center for Thomistic Studies, located at the University of St. Thomas (Houston).
The American Catholic Philosophical Quarterly is a peer-reviewed academic journal sponsored by the American Catholic Philosophical Association. It was founded in 1927 as The New Scholasticism and adopted its current title in 1990. The journal publishes articles and book reviews covering the entire range and history of Western philosophical thought. Contributions on non-Western philosophy are also published, especially if they shed light upon issues in the Western tradition. The journal is not committed to any particular school of philosophy and contributions variously employ analytical, phenomenological, Thomistic, historical, and other methods. Nevertheless, it typically prefers contributions on topics or thinkers that are of special interest to Catholic thought. Thus, almost every issue usually carries at least one article on Thomas Aquinas. Pieces on medieval thought are well represented as well, as are essays in the philosophy of religion and philosophical theology.

Augustinian Studies is a peer-reviewed academic journal devoted to the study of Augustine of Hippo. Its primary focus is the study of Augustine himself, as viewed from various theological, philosophical, and historical perspectives. Articles concerned more broadly with the study of Augustine, such as studies of other persons, groups, or issues in Augustine's time, may also be included. The journal also publishes the annual Saint Augustine Lecture, given each Fall at Villanova University. A special double issue of Augustinian Studies, containing essays on Augustine's City of God, was published in 1999. The journal's editor-in-chief is Ian Clausen. The former editor was Jonathan P. Yates, who replaced Allan D. Fitzgerald in 2012. Augustinian Studies is published by the Philosophy Documentation Center, in cooperation with the Augustinian Institute at Villanova University.
Arabic Sciences and Philosophy, subtitled A Historical Journal, is a peer-reviewed academic journal published by Cambridge University Press. The journal deals with the history of Arabic science, mathematics and philosophy between the 8th and the 18th centuries in a cross-cultural context. Social Philosophy Today is a peer-reviewed interdisciplinary journal sponsored by the North American Society for Social Philosophy. It was established in 1988 by founding editors Yeager Hudson and Creighton Peden. The journal provides a forum for in-depth discussion of contemporary social issues. It was established in 1986 by Andrew Tallon at Marquette University and is the journal of the Karl Rahner Society. One issue of each volume is dedicated to Rahner's thought. Inquiry: Critical Thinking Across the Disciplines is a peer-reviewed academic journal established in 1988 by the Institute for Critical Thinking. The journal publishes articles and reviews on various aspects of critical thinking. After a brief suspension starting in 2005, publication of the journal resumed in 2010 with a new editorial team located at Sam Houston State University. The journal took another pause from 2016 to 2020, resuming publication in 2021. All issues are available online and single documents can be accessed by non-subscribers. The journal is published by the Philosophy Documentation Center. The founding editors-in-chief were Wendy Oxman and Robert Michael Esformes, the current editor is Thomas Brommage.
