The Junior League Softball World Series is a softball tournament for girls aged between 12 and 14. The tournament is administered by Little League Baseball, Inc. and is held annually in the Seattle suburb of Kirkland, Washington.
Intermediate, Junior, and Senior League Baseball are youth baseball divisions of Little League Baseball that are considered more advanced and difficult than younger Little League divisions due to more advanced rules, including the ability to lead-off and steal as the pitcher breaks, along with longer base paths and greater pitching distance. Junior League also includes the use of bats with Template:USSSA bats rather than the transitional Template:USA bats of Little League. Junior League also allows the use of metal spikes in cleats in addition to the molded or plastic spikes used in Little League. The Big League level was discontinued in the baseball and softball divisions — after the 2016 Big League World Series.
The 2008 Little League World Series, was held in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania. It began on August 15 and ended August 24. Eight teams from the United States and eight from throughout the world competed to decide the winner of the 62nd installment of the Little League World Series. In the championship game, the United States champions from Waipi`o, Hawaii defeated the international champions from Matamoros, Mexico. As of 2017, this is the last iteration of the Little League World Series in which the international champions did not originate from an East Asian country.
The 1997 IIHF World U20 Championship were held in Geneva and Morges, Switzerland. The tournament was won by Canada, who won their record fifth-straight gold medal with a 2–0 victory over the United States in the gold medal match. Mike York of the United States was the top scorer in the tournament, with five goals and five assists for ten points.
The Canada under 20 rugby team is the junior national rugby union team from Canada. It replaced the two former age grade teams Under 19's and Under 21s in 2008. The team competed at the IRB Junior World Championships in 2008 and 2009 but have been relegated to the IRB Junior World Rugby Trophy for 2010.
The 2001 Junior League World Series took place from August 13–18 in Taylor, Michigan, United States. Aiea, Hawaii, USA defeated San Francisco, Venezuela in the championship game. In addition to being Hawaii's second straight title. Aiea became the first league to win consecutive Junior League World Series.
The 2002 Junior League World Series took place from August 11–17 in Taylor, Michigan, United States. Cartersville, Georgia, USA defeated David, Panama in the championship game.
The 2003 Junior League World Series took place from August 10–16 in Taylor, Michigan, United States. La Mirada, California defeated Santiago, Panama in the championship game.
The 2004 Junior League World Series took place from August 15–21 in Taylor, Michigan, United States. Tampa, Florida defeated Punto Fijo, Venezuela in the championship game.
The 2005 Junior League World Series took place from August 14–20 in Taylor, Michigan, United States. Panama City, Panama defeated Tarpon Springs, Florida in the championship game.
The 2006 Junior League World Series took place from August 13–19 in Taylor, Michigan, United States. El Campo, Texas defeated Guaymas, Mexico in the championship game.
The 2007 Junior League World Series took place from August 12–18 in Taylor, Michigan, United States. Pearl City, Hawaii defeated Makati, Philippines in the championship game.
The 2009 Junior League World Series took place from August 16–22 in Taylor, Michigan, United States. Scottsdale, Arizona defeated Oranjestad, Aruba in the championship game.
The 2010 Junior League World Series took place from August 15–21 in Taylor, Michigan, United States. Taipei, Taiwan defeated Tyler, Texas in the championship game.
The 2011 Junior League World Series took place from August 14–20 in Taylor, Michigan, United States. Tampa, Florida defeated Taoyuan, Taiwan in the championship game.
The 2012 Junior League World Series took place from August 12–18 in Taylor, Michigan, United States. Rockledge, Florida defeated Oranjestad, Aruba in the championship game. It was Florida's second straight championship.
The 2013 Junior League World Series took place from August 11–17 in Taylor, Michigan, United States. Taoyuan, Taiwan defeated Rio Rico, Arizona in the championship game.
The 2014 Junior League World Series took place from August 9–16 in Taylor, Michigan, United States. Taichung, Taiwan defeated Corpus Christi, Texas in the championship game. It was Taiwan's second straight championship.
The 2015 Junior League World Series took place from August 16–23 in Taylor, Michigan, United States. Taichung, Taiwan defeated Stephens City, Virginia in the championship game. In addition to being the second straight championship for Chung Shan LL; Taiwan became the first County/State to win three straight JLWS championships.
