The 2012 Sweden Invitational was an association football tournament organized in Sweden. [1] It was held 16–20 June 2012 and featured 3 teams: Japan, Sweden and the United States.

The 2009 UEFA European Under-21 Championship began on 15 June 2009, and was the 17th UEFA European Under-21 Championship. This was the first tournament after the competition reverted to a two-year format, following the single-year 2006–07 competition, which allowed the change to odd-numbered years. Djurgården will in the 2009 season compete in the Allsvenskan and Svenska Cupen. Djurgården sacked both managers after the terrible 2008 year, Siggi Jónsson and Paul Lindholm. The new coaches were presented on December 12, 2008, Andreé Jeglertz and former DIF-manager and two times Swedish champion with Djurgården, Zoran Lukic. Djurgården finished at place 14 after winning all the three last games and played Assyriska in qualification for Allsvenskan. Assyriska won the first game at home with 2–0, but Djurgården came back and won 3–0 at home in extra time, which means that Djurgården will play Allsvenskan 2010

The Northern Ireland national football team have appeared in the finals of the FIFA World Cup on three occasions.

The 1974 Svenska Cupen final took place on 23 May 1974 at Örjans Vall in Halmstad. The match was contested by Allsvenskan sides Malmö FF and Östers IF. Öster played their first cup final ever, Malmö FF played their second consecutive final and their 10th final in total. Malmö FF won their 8th title with a 2–0 victory.

The 2013 season was the 116th season of competitive football in Sweden. The competitive year started with the group stage of Svenska Cupen on 2 March. League competition started in early April with Allsvenskan on 31 March, Superettan on 6 April, Division 1 and lower men's leagues plus the Damallsvenskan on 13 April. Svenska Cupen ended with the final played at the national stadium Friends Arena on 26 May. Allsvenskan ended on 3 November, Superettan one day earlier on 2 November, Division 1 and lower men's leagues on 26 October and Damallsvenskan on 20 October. Qualification play-offs were held after the end of league play with the Allsvenskan play-offs being held on 7 and 10 November and the Superettan play-offs being held on 6 and 9 November. Svenska Supercupen was held on 10 November and was contested by the winner of Allsvenskan and Svenska Cupen. Sweden participated in qualification for the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Sweden also hosted UEFA Women's Euro 2013 between 10 and 28 July.

2012 United States womens national soccer team

The 2012 United States women's national soccer team season was dominated by the 2012 Women's Olympic Football Tournament. The start of the year saw the team compete in the CONCACAF Olympic Qualifying Tournament and then in July they participated in the main event itself. The team won both tournaments. In between they also played in Algarve Cup, the Kirin Challenge Cup and the 2012 Sweden Invitational. They also won the latter tournament.

The 2012–13 season was the 111th season of competitive football in Italy.

Group A of the UEFA Women's Euro 2013 consisted of Denmark, Finland, Italy and the host nation Sweden. Matches were staged in Gothenburg and Halmstad from 10–16 July 2013.

The teams competing in Group 7 of the 2015 UEFA European Under-21 Championships qualifying competition are Sweden, Turkey, Greece, Poland and Malta.

The qualifying rounds for the 2001–02 UEFA Champions League began on 11 July 2001. In total, there were three qualifying rounds which provided 16 clubs to join the group stage.
