Athletische Sportvereniging Oostende Koninklijke Maatschappij was a Belgian football club from the city of Ostend, West Flanders until its fusion with VGO Oostende to form K.V. Oostende in 1981.
It was founded in 1911 as Association Sportive Ostendaise (in French). Eleven years later it took part to the second division until 1926 when it was decided to reduce the number of leagues at that level from two to one. The club had finished 9th on 14 in its league that season while only the first 7 clubs were admitted to the next second division season. In 1931 two leagues were held again and the club was admitted to the second division where it remained until the promotion to the first division in 1969. At the end of the 1970–71 season, A.S.V. Oostende K.M. (as it was known since 1947) was relegated to the third division following two awful years for the club. But in 1973 and in 1974 Oostende promoted twice and was thus back at the top level. The highest position reached by the club was the 12th in 1976. In 1981 the club disappeared following the merge with the matricule n°31.
Koninklijke Lierse Sportkring, often simply known as Lierse, was a Belgian professional football club from the city of Lier in the Antwerp province. Lierse have won four championship titles and two Belgian Cups. Lierse was one of the six Belgian clubs to have played in the UEFA Champions League group stage, the others being Anderlecht, Club Brugge, Genk, Standard Liège and KAA Gent.
KSK Beveren is a Belgian football club from Beveren in East Flanders with founded number 2300 and with yellow and blue as colors. The club became national champion twice in its existence and won the Belgian Cup twice. The men's branch of the club was temporarily discontinued in 2010, until 2022 only the women's team played at the Royal Belgian Football Association under founding number 2300. In 2022, after an agreement with Waasland-Beveren, the founding number was released again for men's football, so the club has been active since the 2022-23 season again with a men's team. KSK Beveren is the first football club in Belgium that is completely controlled by supporters and is bound by the principles of Supporters Direct.
The Belgian Second Division play-offs were a series of playoff matches to decide promotion to the Belgian Pro League, organised between 1974 and 2015. Following a large reform of the Belgian football league system at the end of the 2015–16 season, the play-offs were no longer held. In the earlier years these play-offs were contested by teams of the Belgian Second Division but since 2009 also a team from the Belgian Pro League took part. Four teams normally played these play-offs, with the winner being promoted to the Belgian Pro League.
The Belgian Third Division was the third highest level in Belgian football. It had two leagues of 18 teams each at the same level. This competition, originally known as the Belgian Promotion was first played in the 1926-27 season with three leagues, then with four leagues between 1931 and 1952. From 1952 on, only two leagues remained and the competition was named the Third Division. Originally set to 16 clubs, the number of clubs in each division was increased in 2009 to 18 clubs. At the end of the regular season, both league winners promoted to the second division and a play-off was played to determine a possible third club to promote. The champion of the third division was determined after a two-legged match between the winners of the two leagues. If those matches ended in a draw, a third match was played on a neutral ground. However, in recent years this final game was not organised anymore due to lack of interest. In 2016, the Belgian Third Division was replaced by the Belgian Second Amateur Division.

Koninklijke Voetbalclub Oostende, also called KV Oostende or KVO, is a Belgian professional football club from the city of Ostend, West Flanders. The team was founded in 1904 as VG Oostende and has the matricule No. 31. From 2023–24, KV Oostende play in Challenger Pro League.

KSV Waregem won the Belgian Cup against second division club KSK Tongeren (4-1).
