In some systems, paid areas are named differently - for example, on railways in the United Kingdom they are called compulsory ticket areas.

Gundaroo Airport is a private airstrip located approximately 2 km (1.2 mi) south of the village of Gundaroo in the Southern Tablelands region of New South Wales, Australia. The airport is on the grounds of "Bowylie Homestead", once the home of American actress Maud Jeffries and now the country estate of high-profile Australian aviator and entrepreneur Dick Smith. The airfield is home to the Bowylie Flying Club, a museum collection of aviation memorabilia and amateur radio equipment. The airside facilities are linked to the private homestead by a miniature railway which intersects the taxiway, requiring aircraft to give way to trains. The airfield may be available to the public by prior arrangement and has been a destination for aero clubs. The airfield has hosted a bi-annual rally for large scale model aircraft. This event attracts participants from clubs across Australia.

The four original people mover systems connect the airport's main terminal to four satellite airside concourses. A fifth AGT people mover system was installed in 2017 to connect the main terminal with the airport's new Intermodal Terminal.
The Tampa International Airport People Movers are a set of automated people mover systems operating within Tampa International Airport. The primary set of people movers are automated guideway transit (AGT) systems that connect the airport's main terminal to four satellite airside concourses. Opened in 1971, the landside/airside shuttles were the first people movers used to transport passengers within an airport terminal and it is today Bombardier Transportation's longest running people mover system. A fifth people mover line known as SkyConnect, which began operating in 2018, connects the main terminal with the airport's economy parking garage and rental car center. In addition, a monorail once connected the main terminal and the long-term parking garage from 1991 until its closure in 2020.
An airside pass is a type of secure keycard issued by the authorities of a specific airport to their employees, and serves as a means for the employee to pass through security situated between the airside and landside sections of the facility. Employees requiring an airside pass are subject to numerous security checks, including a criminal records check and proof of identity.
