The Bowling Green Falcons are the intercollegiate athletic teams that represent Bowling Green State University (BGSU), in Bowling Green, Ohio, United States. The Falcons compete in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at the Division I level as a member of the Mid-American Conference (MAC) East Division. The men's ice hockey team competes in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA); and men's soccer competes in the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC), following the MAC shutting down its men's soccer league at the end of the 2022 season. Bowling Green sponsors teams in seven men's and 11 women's NCAA-sanctioned sports and the football team competes in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS), the highest level for college football. BGSU is one of only 15 universities in the United States that plays Division I FBS football and Division I men's ice hockey.

The Falcons have played in three NCAA Tournaments, going in 1972, 1999, and 2013. The program has 13 regular-season conference championships, six East Division championships, and three conference tournament championships. The most recent regular-season championship came in 2024. The 1921 team was the first athletic team at the school to win a title, when they finished 6–1–2 in the Northwest Ohio League.
The 2009 Mid-American Conference women's basketball tournament was the post-season basketball tournament for the Mid-American Conference (MAC) 2008–2009 season. The winner of the tournament received the MAC's automatic bid into the 2009 NCAA Division I women's basketball tournament. Regular season west division winner Ball State won the tournament over east division winner Bowling Green. Tracy Pontius was the tournament MVP.
The 2004 MAC men's basketball tournament, a part of the 2003-04 NCAA Division I men's basketball season, took place from March 8–13 at Gund Arena in Cleveland. Its winner received the Mid-American Conference's automatic bid to the 2004 NCAA tournament. It was a single-elimination tournament with four rounds, and the three highest seeds received byes in the first round. All MAC teams were invited to participate. Western Michigan, the MAC regular season winner, received the number one seed in the tournament. Western Michigan defeated Kent State in the final. In the NCAA they lost in the first round to Vanderbilt.
The 2010 Bowling Green Falcons football team was the 92nd varsity football team to represent Bowling Green State University and the program's 58th season in the Mid-American Conference. The Falcons play in the MAC's east division and are led by second year head coach Dave Clawson. They played their home games at Doyt Perry Stadium. They finished the season 2–10, 1–7 in MAC play to finish in a three-way tie for fifth place in the East Division.

The tournament has been held every year since 1997. It is a single-elimination tournament that features the conference's top six teams, with seeding based on regular season records. The winner receives the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Division I women's soccer championship. Through the 2022 season, the Bowling Green Falcons have won the most championships with six, followed by the Toledo Rockets with five titles.

They finished the season 22–12 overall, 12–6 in MAC play to finish second place in the East Division. As the No. 3 seed in the MAC tournament, they advanced to the championship game, where they were defeated by Buffalo. They declined any offer to play in a postseason tournament.

The Bobcats were led by second-year head coach Jeff Boals, who was a 1995 graduate of Ohio University. The team played their home games at the Convocation Center in Athens, Ohio as a member of the Mid-American Conference. In a season limited due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they finished the season 17–8, 9–5 in MAC play to finish in fifth place. As the No. 5 seed in the MAC tournament, they defeated Kent State, Toledo, and Buffalo to win the tournament championship. A a result, they received the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament as the No. 13 seed in the West region. There they upset No. 4-seeded Virginia in the First Round before falling to No. 5-seeded Creighton in the Second Round.

Toledo went to the NIT where they lost to Richmond in the first round.
The 2021 Mid-American Conference women's soccer tournament was the postseason women's soccer tournament for the Mid-American Conference held from October 31 through November 7, 2021. The First Round was held at campus sites. The semifinals and finals took place at Mickey Cochrane Stadium in Bowling Green, Ohio, home of the Bowling Green Falcons, the regular season conference champions. The six-team single-elimination tournament consisted of three rounds based on seeding from regular season conference play. The Bowling Green Falcons were the defending champions, and they successfully defended their title with a 3–0 win over Kent State in the final. The title was the sixth for the Bowling Green women's soccer program and the fourth for head coach Matt Fannon. As tournament champions, Bowling Green earned the Mid-American's automatic berth into the 2021 NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Tournament.
