The Buffalo Bulls women's basketball team is the women's basketball team that represents the University at Buffalo in Buffalo, New York. The team currently competes in the East Division of the Mid-American Conference. The Bulls reached their first NCAA tournament in 2016 [2] and, as of 2023, have appeared in four NCAA tournaments in total, including a Sweet Sixteen appearance in 2018. [3] [4]

List of seasons

Through the 1996–97 season, the women’s basketball teams were known as the Royals. The name was changed to the Bulls for the 1997–98 season. [5]

Buffalo began play in 1915 and joined the MAC in 1998. The South Florida Bulls women's basketball team represents the University of South Florida in women's basketball. The Bulls compete in the American Athletic Conference in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). The Bulls play home basketball games at the Yuengling Center. South Florida is coached by Jose Fernandez, who has been with the Bulls since the 2000–01 season. The 2018 NCAA Division I women's basketball tournament began on March 16, 2018, and concluded with the national championship game on Sunday, April 1. The Final Four was played at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio. This is the third time that the women's Final Four was played in Ohio after previously being held in Cincinnati in 1997 and Cleveland in 2007 and the first time that the women's Final Four was played in Columbus. The 2016–17 Buffalo Bulls men's basketball team represented the State University of New York at Buffalo during the 2016–17 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Bulls, led by second-year head coach Nate Oats, played their home games at Alumni Arena as members of the East Division of the Mid-American Conference. They finished the season 17–14, 11–7 in MAC play to finish in a tie for second place. As the No. 3 seed in the MAC tournament, they lost in the quarterfinals to Kent State.

The 2018–19 Buffalo Bulls women's basketball team represents the University at Buffalo during the 2018–19 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Bulls, led by seventh-year head coach Felisha Legette-Jack, play their home games at Alumni Arena as members of the East Division of the Mid-American Conference. They finished the season 24–10, 12–6 in MAC play to win MAC East Division. Buffalo won the MAC conference tournament championship game over Ohio, 77–61. Cierra Dillard was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player. With that win they earn an automatic trip to the NCAA women's tournament where they upset Rutgers in the first round before losing to Connecticut in the second round.
