Edward John Dugan was a professional baseball pitcher in the American Association for the 1884 Richmond Virginians. His brother, Bill Dugan, also played for the Virginians.

Despite receiving mixed-to-negative reviews from critics, Happy Gilmore was a commercial success, earning $39 million on a $12 million budget. The film won an MTV Movie Award for "Best Fight" for Adam Sandler versus Bob Barker.

He played during the 1884 season for the Richmond Virginians of the American Association and the Kansas City Cowboys of the Union Association. His brother, Ed Dugan, was his teammate on the Virginians. He played with four different minor league teams in 1885 and finished his career in the New England League in 1887.

The facility has a capacity of 1,500 spectators. The playing surface is named after Ken Dugan, Lipscomb baseball coach from 1960 to 1996 and winner of over 1,000 games as head of the program. The surrounding facility is named after Stephen Lee Marsh.
