Zhuhai is a prefecture-level city on the southern coast of Guangdong province in China. Located in the Pearl River Delta, Zhuhai borders Jiangmen to the northwest, Zhongshan to the north, and Macau to the south. Zhuhai was one of the original Special Economic Zones established in the 1980s. Zhuhai is also one of China's premier tourist destinations, being called the Chinese Riviera. While the city is located in the traditionally Cantonese-speaking region of Guangdong Province, a significant portion of population is now made up of Mandarin speaking economic migrants originally from inland provinces.
Baiyun District is one of the administrative districts of Guangzhou, the capital of China's Guangdong province. The district is located in the city's northern suburbs, and is named after the Baiyun Mountain, one of the area's natural attractions.

It has a road connecting to Luohu, with regular bus services to Shenzhen's main train terminus and through connections to Guangzhou. The subdistrict lies near a highway that links to Meixian and Chaozhou while the Shenzhen railway is also part of the transport links between Hong Kong and Beijing.

Guancheng Subdistrict is a subdistrict in Guangdong Province, China under the administration of Dongguan City. It has an area of 13.5 square kilometres (5.2 sq mi) and a residential population of 230,000, of which 152,000 are new residents. Guancheng was the old political and cultural centre of Dongguan, before the government moved to the new centre in the Nancheng Subdistrict.

It has an area of 110 square kilometres and a residential population of 500,000, of whom 300,000 are new residents. The GDP of Dongcheng Subdistrict in 2015 reached 627.50 billion, an increase of 8% from the previous year.
Wan Qingliang is a former Chinese politician from Guangdong province. He served as the Mayor of Guangzhou, one of China's most populous cities, from 2010 to 2011, and was then promoted to Communist Party Secretary, the top official of the city. In June 2014, the Communist Party's anti-corruption agency announced that Wan was held for investigation. Wan was expelled from Communist Party of China on October 9, 2014. He was convicted on criminal charges related to taking over 100 million yuan in bribes, and sentenced to life in prison.

Covering a total area of 119.95 square kilometres (46.31 sq mi) of land spaces and anchorage sea water, the FTZ consists of three parts - Outlying Islands Zone, Northern Zhoushan Island Zone and Southern Zhoushan Island Zone. Established in 2014, the FTZ primarily focuses on trade of bulk commodity in eastern China, such as petroleum and oil products.
