Danielle Jane Minogue is an Australian singer, songwriter, actress, television personality, and model. She rose to prominence for her roles in the Australian television talent show Young Talent Time (1982-1988) and the soap opera Home and Away (1989-1990), before beginning her career as a pop singer in the early 1990s. Minogue achieved early success with her debut studio album, Love and Kisses (1991), which respectively produced the hits "Love and Kisses", "This Is It", "Jump to the Beat", and "Baby Love". Following the release of her second album, Minogue’s popularity as a singer had declined, leading her to make a name for herself with award-winning performances in the musical stage shows Grease (1997) and Notre-Dame de Paris (1999), and other acting credits The Vagina Monologues and Lady Macbeth.
Home and Away is an Australian television soap opera. It was created by Alan Bateman and commenced broadcast on the Seven Network on 17 January 1988. Bateman came up with the concept of the show during a trip to Kangaroo Point, New South Wales, where he noticed locals were complaining about the construction of a foster home and against the idea of foster children from the city living in the area. The soap opera was initially going to be called Refuge, but the name was changed to the "friendlier" title of Home and Away once production began. The show premiered with a ninety-minute pilot episode. Since then, each subsequent episode has aired for a duration of twenty-two minutes and Home and Away has become the second longest-running drama series in Australian television. In Australia, it is currently broadcast from Mondays to Thursdays at 7:00 pm.

After starting her career in British films, she became best known for her acting career in Australia after emigrating there in 1970, particularly her iconic television soap opera roles with portrayals of nasty characters. Frances was known for her role as Morag Bellingham on Home and Away since its inception in 1988, after leaving that series, she appeared on a semi-regular basis as the storyline permitted, rejoining briefly as a permanent cast member in 2001, before going back to an itinerant basis.
