Joseph Morrison Skelly is Professor of History at the College of Mount Saint Vincent in Riverdale, New York, an American scholar, and a retired United States Army officer.
Dr. Skelly's education includes a BA from the University of Notre Dame and an MA and PhD from University College Dublin. He was a Rotary Foundation International Graduate Scholar at Queen’s University in Belfast. He has published numerous books, including Political Islam from Muhammad to Ahmadinejad: Defenders, Detractors, and Definitions; the volume Ideas Matter: Essays in Honor of Conor Cruise O'Brien;Irish Foreign Policy, 1919-66: From Independence to Internationalism; and Irish Diplomacy at the United Nations, 1945-65: National Interests and the International Order. He has written articles for scholarly journals in North America, Europe, and Israel on a wide range of topics, including international terrorism, radical Islam, military affairs, and diplomatic history. He has published essays on similar themes in The Washington Times, National Review Online, United Press International, Irish Independent , and The Belfast Telegraph. He is treasurer of the Association for the Study of the Middle East and Africa and a writing fellow with the Middle East Forum. He was an academic fellow with the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies from 2003-07. He served as an editorial advisor to Robert McCartney, Member of the British Parliament and leader of the UK/Unionist Party, from 2000-02.
Joseph Skelly is a retired U.S. Army officer. He served in the United States Army Reserve from 2001-21 and in the United States Army National Guard from 1996-2000. He held a range of command, staff, and operational positions. He completed a tour of duty in Operation Iraqi Freedom, where he was stationed in the city of Baquba in Diyala Province, northeast of Bagdad on the edge of the Sunni Triangle. His major military awards include the Bronze Star, the Combat Action Badge, the Iraq Campaign Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, and the Army Service Medal for being deployed during the COVID pandemic in 2020. He was the recipient of the General Douglas MacArthur Leadership Award in 2016; he was the honor graduate of Army training and development courses at Fort Benning, GA, Fort Leonard Wood, MO, and Fort Sam Houston, TX; and he received the Commanding General’s award for the highest score on the record Army Physical Fitness Test at the latter two locations.
Tommy Ray Franks is a retired general in the United States Army. His last army post was as the Commander of the United States Central Command, overseeing United States military operations in a 25-country region, including the Middle East. Franks succeeded General Anthony Zinni to this position on 6 July 2000 and served until his retirement on 7 July 2003. Franks was the United States general leading the attack on the Taliban in Afghanistan in response to the September 11 attacks on the World Trade Center and The Pentagon in 2001. He also oversaw the 2003 invasion of Iraq and the overthrow of Saddam Hussein.
Patrick Oliver Cockburn is a journalist who has been a Middle East correspondent for the Financial Times since 1979 and, from 1990, The Independent. He has also worked as a correspondent in Moscow and Washington and is a frequent contributor to the London Review of Books.
John Louis Esposito is an American academic, professor of Middle Eastern and religious studies, and scholar of Islamic studies, who serves as Professor of Religion, International Affairs, and Islamic Studies at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. He is also the founding director of the Prince Alwaleed Center for Muslim–Christian Understanding at Georgetown.
Kenneth R. Timmerman is a political writer and conservative activist who was the 2012 Republican nominee for U.S. Representative for the newly redrawn Maryland's 8th congressional district, facing the incumbent Chris Van Hollen, a Democrat. Timmerman lost to Van Hollen, 33% to 63%. In 2000, Timmerman was a candidate for the Republican nomination for U.S. Senator from Maryland. Timmerman is executive director of the Foundation for Democracy in Iran, an organization that works to support democratic movements in Iran. He authored Shakedown: Exposing the Real Jesse Jackson. Timmerman has also written on the spread of weapons of mass destruction in the Middle East. He is currently an Expert at Wikistrat. He ran for Lieutenant Governor of Maryland on a ticket with businessman Charles Lollar in the 2014 Maryland gubernatorial election. The Lollar/Timmerman ticket finished third in the Republican primary.
John Thomas Alderdice, Baron Alderdice is a Northern Ireland politician. He was the Speaker and a Member of the Northern Ireland Assembly (MLA) for East Belfast from 1998 to 2004 and 1998 to 2003, respectively. Alderdice was the leader of the Alliance Party of Northern Ireland from 1987 to 1998, and since 1996 has sat in the House of Lords as a Liberal Democrat.
Abdul Aziz Said was Professor Emeritus of International Relations in the School of International Service at American University, Washington, D.C., and founding Director of the university's International Peace and Conflict Resolution Division. Said was well known for helping shift the focus of International Relations theory from real politic-based on the concept that the law of power governs states, to new world order-based on cooperation and common security. Starting in the 1990s Said focused his work on peace and conflict resolution and later explored the relationship between spirituality and religion in international politics.

Marc Warren is a senior counsel in Crowell & Moring's Aviation and Administrative Law & Regulatory practice group. From 2007 until joining Crowell & Moring in April 2014, Marc Warren was the Deputy Chief Counsel for Operations at the Federal Aviation Administration. He had been assigned to the US Army's Judge Advocate General office. He was at the Center for Military Law and Operations. He was a potential defendant in the proposed international war crimes prosecution for the Abu Ghraib and Guantanamo Bay torture scandal, undertaken by the German national Wolfgang Kaleck.
Lt. Gen. Douglas Edward Lute is a retired United States Army lieutenant general and public servant who served as the United States Permanent Representative to NATO from 2013 to 2017. He was nominated for the post by President Obama on May 23, 2013, confirmed by the Senate on August 1, 2013 by voice vote, and assumed his position on September 3, 2013.

Padraig O'Malley is an Irish international peacemaker, author, and professor. O'Malley specializes in the problems of divided societies, such as South Africa and Northern Ireland. He has written extensively on these subjects and has been actively involved in promoting dialogue among representatives of differing factions. He's currently the John Joseph Moakley Distinguished Professor of Peace and Reconciliation at the University of Massachusetts Boston.
The Association for the Study of the Middle East and Africa (ASMEA) is an American learned society, dedicated to promoting research and teaching in Middle Eastern and African studies, and related fields. It was founded on October 24, 2007 by Bernard Lewis (Princeton University) and Fouad Ajami (Hoover Institution) as a rival to the learned society Middle East Studies Association of North America (MESA) as it was regarded to have become "dominated by academics who have been critical of Israel and of America's role in the Middle East."
Akbar Salahuddin Ahmed, is a Pakistani-American academic, author, poet, playwright, filmmaker and former diplomat. He currently is a professor of International Relations and holds the Ibn Khaldun Chair of Islamic Studies at the American University, School of International Service in Washington, D.C. Akbar Ahmed served as the Pakistan High Commissioner to the UK and Ireland. He currently is a Global Fellow at the Woodrow Wilson Center.
Daniel William Christman is a retired United States Army lieutenant general, former Superintendent of the United States Military Academy (1996–2001), and the current Senior Vice President for International Affairs, U.S. Chamber of Commerce. A 1965 graduate of West Point, he went on to earn multiple post-graduate degrees and hold numerous commands during his army career. Christman served in highly visible and strategically important positions and four times was awarded the Defense Distinguished Service Medal, the nation's highest peacetime service award.

Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, more commonly referred to as AHY, is an Indonesian politician and former army major who is currently serving as the leader of the Democratic Party. Serving in the army from 2000 until 2016, he is the Executive Director of the Yudhoyono Institute and founder of the Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono Foundation. He is the son of former Indonesian president Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, more commonly known as SBY.
