K. Beringen-Heusden-Zolder was a Belgian football club, from the municipalities of Heusden-Zolder and Beringen in Limburg. Its stadium has been located in the municipality of Beringen-Mijn from 2004 to 2006 (after its relegation from the Belgian First Division).
It was founded in 1936 as S.K. Heusden and it eventually changed its name to K.S.K. Heusden. The team qualified for the third division in 1997. In 1999 the club merged with K.F.C. Helzold to become K. Heusden-Zolder S.K.. In 2000–01 it played in the second division for the first time and ended at 12th place, as it had won the third division playoff to Kortrijk after having lost the title to Mons in a test-match for the first place. The next season it finished 4th and it moved to the stadium of Genk.
In 2002–03 it qualified for the next Belgian First Division as it finished 3rd and won the final round. Doing this, the club became the fastest rising team ever in Belgian football history, being promoted five times in only 10 years without being relegated. At the end of the 2003–04 season however, the club was relegated and it changed its name at the same time. In 2005–06, K. Beringen-Heusden-Zolder did not ask for a 2nd division license because of financial problems and it was subsequently relegated to the third division on 2 March 2006 for the 2006–07 season. Some time later the club went into liquidation. On 25 April 2006, the club of Berkenbos V.V. playing in the Promotion C changed its name to KVV Heusden-Zolder.

Sportkring Beveren is a Belgian professional association football club based in Beveren, East Flanders. The club is affiliated with the founded number 4068 and has yellow and blue as its colours. The team was founded in 1936 in Haasdonk and joined the Belgian Football Association in 1944 as FC Red Star Haasdonk. In 2002, the club moved to Sint-Niklaas and changed its name to KV Red Star Waasland. From 2010, it continued to play in Beveren under the name KVRS Waasland - SK Beveren until 2022, when it was renamed Sportkring Beveren. They play in the Challenger Pro League.
The Belgian Second Division play-offs were a series of playoff matches to decide promotion to the Belgian Pro League, organised between 1974 and 2015. Following a large reform of the Belgian football league system at the end of the 2015–16 season, the play-offs were no longer held. In the earlier years these play-offs were contested by teams of the Belgian Second Division but since 2009 also a team from the Belgian Pro League took part. Four teams normally played these play-offs, with the winner being promoted to the Belgian Pro League.

The Belgian Third Division was the third highest level in Belgian football. It had two leagues of 18 teams each at the same level. This competition, originally known as the Belgian Promotion was first played in the 1926-27 season with three leagues, then with four leagues between 1931 and 1952. From 1952 on, only two leagues remained and the competition was named the Third Division. Originally set to 16 clubs, the number of clubs in each division was increased in 2009 to 18 clubs. At the end of the regular season, both league winners promoted to the second division and a play-off was played to determine a possible third club to promote. The champion of the third division was determined after a two-legged match between the winners of the two leagues. If those matches ended in a draw, a third match was played on a neutral ground. However, in recent years this final game was not organised anymore due to lack of interest. In 2016, the Belgian Third Division was replaced by the Belgian Second Amateur Division.

The Cegeka Arena is a multi-purpose stadium in Genk, Belgium. It is currently used mostly for association football matches and is the home ground of K.R.C. Genk. The stadium holds 23,718 and was built in 1999. Heusden-Zolder played at this stadium for their single season at the top level in 2003-04. Following the relegation of the club, it moved to Mijnstadion in Beringen. The average home attendance varies from 20,000 to 22,000 supporters who visit the stadium every fortnight.

Mijnstadion is a multi-use stadium in Beringen, Belgium. It has been used mostly for football matches as the home ground of K. Beringen-Heusden-Zolder, until the club reached the first division in 2003–04. At this time the club moved to the Fenix Stadion of rival club K.R.C. Genk. After one season at the top level of Belgian football, the club was relegated to the second division and moved back to Mijnstadion. In April 2006 Beringen-Heusden-Zolder went into liquidation. Since then, the stadium is no longer used by any professional football club and is used by young teams of the area.
