James Gorman Thomas III is an American former professional baseball player. He played Major League Baseball (MLB) as a center fielder and right-handed hitter. Thomas played in the American League (AL) with the Milwaukee Brewers, Cleveland Indians (1983) and Seattle Mariners (1984–86).
Stephen Charles Balboni is an American former Major League Baseball player, who played for the New York Yankees, Seattle Mariners, Kansas City Royals, and Texas Rangers. He was a player with home run power and a tendency to strike out. He was nicknamed "Bye Bye" because of his home run hitting prowess. He was also known by the nickname "Bones", which is a malapropism for Balboni. He is also known for the "Curse of the Balboni", an idea written about by Rany Jazayerli which said no baseball team with a player hitting more than 36 home runs for that team could win the World Series. Since Balboni was the last player to hit 36 home runs and win a World Series,, the curse bore his name. The curse ran from 1985 until Luis Gonzalez and the Arizona Diamondbacks won the 2001 World Series.
Frederick Wayne Honeycutt is an American former professional baseball coach and pitcher. Honeycutt pitched in Major League Baseball (MLB) for six different teams over 21 years, from 1977 to 1997. He pitched in 30 post-season games, including 20 League Championship Series games and seven World Series games, and never lost a game, going 3–0. Honeycutt gave up no runs in the 1988 and 1990 post-seasons, and was a member of the Oakland Athletics' 1989 World Series championship team. He was also the pitching coach for the Los Angeles Dodgers from 2006 through 2019.
Thomas Erwin McMillan is an American former professional baseball player whose career spanned seven seasons, including one in Major League Baseball with the Seattle Mariners (1977). As a member of the inaugural Mariners team, McMillan, a shortstop, went hitless in five at-bats. The majority of his career was spent in the minor leagues. After he was drafted out of Jacksonville University by the Cleveland Indians during the 1973 Major League Baseball Draft, McMillan made his professional debut that year with the Double-A San Antonio Brewers.

He also spent significant time as a pinch hitter.

The 1978 Cincinnati Reds season was a season in American baseball. The Reds finished in second place in the National League West with a record of 92-69, 2½ games behind the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Reds were managed by Sparky Anderson and played their home games at Riverfront Stadium. Following the season, Anderson was replaced as manager by John McNamara, and Pete Rose left to sign with the Philadelphia Phillies for the 1979 season.

Pasley hit his only career major league home run in what would prove to be his final at-bat in the majors on October 1, 1978.
