The American Hockey League (AHL) is a professional ice hockey league based in the United States and Canada that serves as the primary developmental league for the National Hockey League (NHL). As of the 2023–24 AHL season, 31 of the 32 AHL teams had an official affiliation with an NHL team; immediately following season's end, the Chicago Wolves and Carolina Hurricanes finalized an affiliation agreement, resulting in all AHL teams having an NHL affiliation for the upcoming 2024–25 season. Historically, when an NHL team does not have an AHL affiliate, its players are assigned to AHL teams affiliated with other NHL franchises.

Berglund Center is a 10,500-seat multi-purpose arena located in the Williamson Road neighborhood of Roanoke, Virginia. It was built in 1971 and is currently the home of the Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs of the SPHL. The arena also hosts Virginia Tech, Radford University and Roanoke College men's ice hockey games, as well as regular concerts and other large indoor events. The arena is also the home of the annual boys basketball games between Roanoke's two city high schools, Patrick Henry High School and William Fleming High School.
The Payne Arena is a multi-purpose complex, in Hidalgo, Texas. It was formerly known as Dodge Arena from 2003 until February 2010, State Farm Arena from 2010 to September 2018, and then State Farm Hidalgo Arena for one year.
The Garden City Arena Complex was a sports complex in St. Catharines, Ontario. It was the main arena facility in that city from its construction in 1938 until the opening of the Meridian Centre in 2014.
The Duquesne Gardens was the main sports arena located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, during the first half of the 20th century. Built in 1890, the building originally served as a trolley barn, before becoming a multi-purpose arena. The Gardens opened three years after a fire destroyed the city's prior sports arena, the Schenley Park Casino, in 1896. Over the years, the Gardens was the home arena of several of Pittsburgh's historic sports teams, such as ice hockey's Pittsburgh Pirates and Pittsburgh Hornets. The Western Pennsylvania Hockey League, which was the first ice hockey league to openly hire and trade players, played all of its games at the Gardens. The arena was also the first hockey rink to ever use glass above the dasher boards. Developed locally by the Pittsburgh Plate Glass Company, Herculite glass was first tested in Pittsburgh. Most rinks were using wire mesh before the shatterproof glass was invented. Finally, the Pittsburgh Ironmen, a charter member of the Basketball Association of America, played at the Gardens from 1946 to 1947.
The Robert Morris University Island Sports Center is a sports complex located in the Pittsburgh suburb of Neville Island in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, United States. The RMU Island Sports Center opened in 1998, and houses several ice and inline skating rinks, a golf range, a miniature golf course, athletic fields, a strength and fitness center, a bistro and a pro shop. In 2003, Robert Morris University bought a Superfund Site's land from Neville Land Company for 2.7 million. Ohio River Park is still being monitored by the EPA. A boathouse was added in October 2016. The complex is accessible via exit 65 of Interstate 79.
The Rostraver Ice Garden is a 5,000-seat multi-purpose arena in the Pittsburgh suburb of Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania, USA at exit 43, 43a and 43b on Interstate 70.
The Indiana Ice Miners was a professional ice hockey team formerly in the Mid-Atlantic Hockey League. Based in Indiana, Pennsylvania, the team was a founding member of the MAHL, first playing in 2007. The team played at the S&T Bank Arena. When the league folded prior to the 2008 season, the team was unable to find a new league to play in, but owner Fidel Jenkins had expressed an interest in returning for the 2009–10 season.
Northwest Arena is a multi-purpose arena in Jamestown, New York, USA. It hosts local sporting events and concerts. It is the home of the Jamestown Rebels junior hockey team in the North American Hockey League.
Center Ice Arena is an ice rink located in Delmont, Pennsylvania. The venue, opened in 1997, houses three NHL ice sheets and is home to eight high school teams, one college team, and one amateur team. During the summer season, the Allegheny Arena is transformed into a roller rink.
The St. Nicholas Rink, also called the St. Nicholas Arena, was an indoor ice rink, and later a boxing arena in New York City from 1896 until 1962. The rink was one of the earliest indoor ice rinks made of mechanically frozen ice in North America, enabling a longer season for skating sports. It was demolished in the 1980s.
Canlan Ice Sports Etobicoke is a four-pad hockey facility located at Ontario Highway 409 and Martin Grove Road in Etobicoke, Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The arena is owned and operated by Canlan Ice Sports Corporation, of Burnaby, British Columbia. Canlan Ice Sports Corporation is a publicly traded company on the Toronto Stock Exchange with the call letters ICE. Canlan Ice Sports Etobicoke is one of five arena complexes in the Greater Toronto Area owned by the Canlan Ice Sports Corporation, with the other four locations in North York, Scarborough, Oshawa, and Oakville.
The Penn State Ice Pavilion was a 1,350-seat ice arena on the campus of The Pennsylvania State University located in University Park, Pennsylvania, United States. The ice arena included an NHL regulation sized 200' x 85' ice sheet as well as a 45' x 55' studio ice sheet.
The Ice Vault Arena is a 600-seat multi-purpose arena in Wayne, New Jersey. Built in 2003, it is home to the Jersey Hitmen of the United States Premier Hockey League and the William Paterson University Pioneers of the American Collegiate Hockey Association's Super East Collegiate Hockey League. In the fall of 2011, it became home to the New Jersey Outlaws of the Federal Hockey League for one season, before the team moved to Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
Alpine Arena was an ice rink located in Swissvale, Pennsylvania, 9 miles east of downtown Pittsburgh. Originally an outdoor skating rink, an indoor venue opened in 1967. It hosted ice hockey at the high school and collegiate levels, as well as rock concerts and other events. In 1975, the arena was transformed into tennis courts. As of 2008, the building is still standing.
