Shane O'Neill (born 1972) is an American tattoo artist [1] in Middletown, Delaware. He is best known for winning the first season of the Spike TV show Ink Master and he is nationally recognized for being an expert in Black-and-gray portraits and realism tattoos. [2]

History

O'Neill attended the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts. He then worked as a freelance illustrator. [3] O'Neill began tattooing in 1997, with his artwork being featured in tattoo magazines Tattoo Society, Rise Magazine, and Wet Red Ink. [4]

During Ink Master, O'Neill was never in the bottom three contestants or up for elimination except in the final episode where only three contestants were left. He won Best Tattoo of the Week honors in episodes 3, 6, and 7. In the final episode, O'Neill produced a Japanese style tattoo and a colored skull tattoo and won.

In March 2012, the Middletown Town Council gave a proclamation in honor of O'Neill's win. [5] Also in 2012, he participated as a member of the jury for the Chaudesaigues Award, which recognizes excellence in tattooing.

O'Neill has been featured at as a high profile guest at many tattoo conventions and even organized tattoo conventions himself. [6] In February 2012, he organized a "Best in the MidWest" convention in Council Bluffs, Iowa and in July 2013, he organized "The Gambling Rose" convention in Cincinnati. [7] He also launched his own company, System One Tattoo Products, which sells items related to tattoo care and piercing.

Personal life

O'Neill lives in Middletown, Delaware with his wife and three daughters. [8] [9]

Ryan Ashley DiCristina, known as Ryan Ashley, is an American tattoo artist known for her appearances on the television shows Ink Master and its spin-offs. Her signature style reflects her training and experience as a fashion designer: Ashley specializes in black-and-gray designs with beadwork, lace detail, and ornamental jewels. Ashley won Ink Master's season eight competition in 2016 and in the following years returned to host a spin-off show (Angels), judge another spin-off, and judge in the main series. She co-owns a tattoo shop in Grand Junction, Colorado.

Ink Master: Turf War is the thirteenth season of the tattoo reality competition Ink Master that premiered on Paramount Network on January 7 and ended on April 14, 2020 with a total of fifteen episodes. The show is hosted and judged by Jane's Addiction guitarist Dave Navarro, with accomplished tattoo artists Chris Núñez and Oliver Peck serving as series regular judges. The winner was to receive $100,000, a feature in Inked magazine and the title of Ink Master. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States, the live finale was cancelled and no winner was announced for this season.

Katherine "Kat" Flores, known professionally as Tatu Baby, is an American tattoo artist and reality television personality. She was a contestant on Ink Master season 2 in 2012, where she placed fourth, and season 3 of the same show in 2013, where she placed third. She currently stars as a main cast member in Cartel Crew (2019–present), another reality television show based on people who have connections to drug cartels. Tatu Baby remains active as a tattoo artist in Miami, Florida.
