Southwest College is a community college based in Houston, Texas. Part of the Houston Community College System, it serves the Southwest and West portions of the city, as well as the nearby suburbs of Missouri City and Stafford. Southwest College consists of six satellite campuses: Alief Campus, Alief Continuing Education Center, Gulfton Center, Missouri City Campus, Stafford Campus and West Loop Center.
The HCC Alief Campus is located in West Houston in the former Chevron building off Westheimer Road near Beltway 8. The campus, which serves the Alief District, opened in January 2008, replacing the Alief Center on Bissonnet in Southwest Houston, which is now home of the Alief Continuing Education Center.
The HCC Alief Continuing Education Center is located in Southwest Houston on Bissonnet. Formerly known as Alief Center before the Alief Campus opened, it now serves as a center for post-graduates desiring to continue their studies.
The HCC Gulfton Center is located in Southwest Houston in the Gulfton District. It mainly consists of classes devoted to new international students learning English.
The HCC Missouri City Campus is located in unincorporated Fort Bend County and serves Missouri City. Missouri City always had an HCC campus in the vicinity; the current campus opened in August 2008 located in the Sienna Springs subdivision off Highway 6, replacing the former Missouri City Center located at the intersection of Cartwright Road and Texas Parkway.
The HCC Stafford Campus is located in Stafford. The campus consists of four segments located along Cash Road and surrounding areas: the Scarella Center with the new learning hub, the original Stafford Campus, the Greenbriar Annex (home to arts programs) and the Applied Technology Center.
The HCC West Loop Center is located near the Uptown District of Houston off West Loop near Southwest Freeway and also serves Bellaire.
Bellaire is a city in southwest Harris County, Texas, United States, within the Houston–Sugar Land–Baytown metropolitan area. As of the 2010 U.S. census, the city population was 16,855. In 2019, its population increased to 18,971. It is surrounded by the cities of Houston and West University Place. Bellaire is known as the "City of Homes," owing to its mostly residential character; however, there are offices along the 610 Loop within the city limits.
Stafford is a city in the U.S. state of Texas, in the Houston–The Woodlands–Sugar Land metropolitan area. The city is mostly in Fort Bend County, with a small part in Harris County. As of the 2010 census, Stafford's population was 17,693, up from 15,681 at the 2000 census. As of 2019, the population had decreased to an estimated 17,362.

Alief Taylor High School is a public high school in the Alief Independent School District. It is located in an unincorporated area in the Alief community of Harris County, near Houston. Opened in 2001, Alief Taylor is the newest high school in the district. It is named after Edward "Doc" Taylor, who taught AP American History at Alief Hastings High School.
Gulfton is a community in Southwest Houston, Texas, United States that includes a 3.2 sq mi (8.3 km2) group of apartment complexes that primarily house refugee and immigrant populations. It is located between the 610 Loop and Beltway 8, west of the City of Bellaire, southeast of Interstate 69/U.S. Highway 59, and north of Bellaire Boulevard.

Houston Community College (HCC), also known as Houston Community College System (HCCS) is a community college system that operates community colleges in Houston, Missouri City, Greater Katy, and Stafford in Texas. It is notable for actively recruiting internationally and for the large number of international students enrolled, over 5,700 in 2015. Its open enrollment policies, which do not require proficiency in English, are backed by a full-time 18-month English proficiency program and remedial courses.

Bissonnet Street is a major arterial road in Houston, Texas, United States. Bissonnet begins at Main Street in the Museum District of Houston and travels 19.4 miles (31.2 km) west-southwest through West University Place, Bellaire, Gulfton, Sharpstown, and Alief before terminating in unincorporated Fort Bend County near Mission Bend. Within the Interstate 610 loop, Bissonnet serves or passes a number of historic Houston neighborhoods, including Boulevard Oaks, Southampton and Shadyside. The Houston Press named Bissonnet the "Best Route into the City" in its 2007 awards, noting the road's route through "economically and ethnically diverse neighborhoods."

Forum Park is a community in Houston, Texas. It is bounded by Texas State Highway Beltway 8, U.S. Route 59, and Bissonnet Road. A portion of the community resides in the Greater Sharpstown district.
