Årefjällsloppet is a Swedish long-distance cross country race which in 2013 is the final of the long distance cup Ski Classics. [1] The first edition was held on 23 March 2013, and was 75 km classic technique.
Ski Classics is a commercially sponsored international long-distance cross-country skiing cup competition, held in Europe. It debuted in January 2011. As of the 2015-6 ski season, the tour consisted of ten events.

The first Biathlon World Championships (BWCH) was held in 1958, with individual and team contests for men. The number of events has grown significantly over the years. Beginning in 1984, women biathletes had their own World Championships, and finally, from 1989, both genders have been participating in joint BWCHs. In 1978 the development was enhanced by the change from the large army rifle calibre to a small bore rifle, while the range to the target was reduced from 150 to 50 meters.

Vasaloppet is an annual long distance cross-country ski race held on the first Sunday of March. The 90 km (56 mi) course starts in the village of Sälen and ends in the town of Mora in northwestern Dalarna, Sweden. It is the oldest cross-country ski race in the world, as well as the one with the highest number of participants.
At the 1908 Summer Olympics, seven track cycling events were contested, all for men only. The weather was poor, with rainfall causing the track to flood on occasion. The track was 660 yards long ; some events used full laps of the track; the others used metric distances.

Janne Reidar Stefansson is a retired Swedish cross-country skier. He competed at the 1960 and 1964 Olympics in the 15 km and 4×10 km events and won a gold medal in the relay in 1964, finishing fourth in 1960. He also finished fourth-fifth in the 15, 30 and 50 km events in 1964.
Jörgen Mårtensson is one of the most successful Swedish orienteer of all times. Twice a winner of the World Orienteering Championships, he also won the 5 days O-Ringen in 1981, 1996 and 1997. Furthermore, he won the Swedish Championship in Marathon at Stockholm Marathon in 1993. Now retired, he had one of the longest spanning careers in orienteering at world class level, taking part in World Championships over a period of twenty years. Starting with the 1978 World Orienteering Championships, where he placed eighth in the individual contest, he competed in every world championship until 1997.
