Ídolos Brazil 2 (known as Ídolos 2007) was the second season of Brazilian reality interactive talent show Ídolos (and last aired on SBT), which premiered on March 28, 2007 with the season finale airing on August 16, 2007.

Beto Marden and Lígia Mendes returned as hosts from last year and the judging panel again consists of Carlos Eduardo Miranda, Arnaldo Saccomani, Cyz Zamorano and Thomas Roth.

Thaeme Mariôto won the competition with Shirley Carvalho as the first runner-up and Lenny Bellard finishing third. [1]

Theater Round

First Cut

The first day of Theater Week featured the one hundred eighty-three contestants from the auditions round. One hundred and eight contestants advanced.

Chorus Line

Divided into groups, each contestant should go on stage and sing a song a capella for the judges until they stopped them. Seventy-four advanced.

Solos

The next round required the contestants singing solo with the option of playing an instrument. Fifty advanced to the final round. In the end, the judges take the contestants in pairs and tell them if they made the final thirty-two.

Semi-finals

The thirty-two semifinalists were split by gender into four groups. Each contestant would then sing in their respective group's night. The top three contestants from each group made it to the finals. The girls' groups performed on May 16, 2007 and May 30, 2007, while the guys' groups performed on May 23, 2007 and June 6, 2007, with results show on the following night.

<i>Idol</i> (franchise) Reality television music competition format

Idol is a reality television singing competition format created by British television producer Simon Fuller and developed by Fremantle. The format began in 2001 with the British television series Pop Idol; its first adaptation was the South African series Idols in 2002. It has since become the world's most widely watched television franchise, as well as one of the most successful entertainment formats, adapted in over 56 regions around the world, with its various versions broadcast to 150 countries with a worldwide audience of roughly 3.2 billion people. Latin American Idol was the Hispanic American edition of the popular British franchise of Idols, well known for its American version American Idol. The show aimed to discover the pop idol of the Hispanic American region. Ídolos Brazil 1 was the first season of Brazilian reality interactive talent show Ídolos, which premiered April 5, 2006 with the season finale airing on July 27, 2006.

One in a Million is Malaysia's first ever reality singing competition to offer a RM 1 million prize to the winner. The second season began on 16 November 2007, resuming to its former timeslot at 9:30 pm on 8TV. The season had been marred by a restriction imposed on 8TV against airing live telecasts, as a result of season one's runner-up Faizal Tahir breaching the decency code during 8TV's birthday concert on mid-January 2008. The 6th season of Last Comic Standing began airing in May 2008. This competitive reality show on NBC was hosted by Bill Bellamy and a new co-host, Fearne Cotton. The contest was won by Iliza Shlesinger from Dallas, Texas.

The fifth season of Australian Idol premiered on 5 August 2007 on Network Ten. It concluded on 25 November.

Ídolos Brazil 4 was the fourth season of Brazilian reality interactive talent show Ídolos, which premiered August 18, 2009 with the season finale airing on December 16, 2009.

Ídolos Brazil 6, also taglined as Ídolos 2011 is the sixth season of Brazilian reality interactive talent show Ídolos and fourth season aired on Rede Record. It premiered on Tuesday, April 5, 2011.

The first season of Pakistan Idol premiered on Geo on 6 December 2013 and continued until 24 April 2014. It was won by Zamad Baig. The first season was hosted by Mohib Mirza, while Anoushey Ashraf joined in semi-finals and also hosted the spin-off show Pakistan Idol-Sur Ka Safar.

The sixth season of Ídolos aired in 2015. João Manzarra was the presenter.

The ninth seasonof Indonesian Idol premiered on RCTI at the end of 2017 after a three-year hiatus. Registration opened 21 August. The main audition process was held in five major cities in Indonesia: Bandung, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Medan and Jakarta.

Israel participated in and won the Eurovision Song Contest 2018. The Israeli broadcaster Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation (IPBC/Kan) collaborated with the commercial broadcaster Keshet and Tedy Productions, which organised the reality singing competition HaKokhav HaBa L'Eurovizion to select the singer. The winner of the Israeli national selection was Netta Barzilai, and a committee of the Israeli broadcaster internally selected the song "Toy" for her.

<i>American Idol</i> season 16 Season of a TV show

The sixteenth season of American Idol premiered on March 11, 2018, on the ABC television network. It was the show's first season to air on ABC, and after 15 years, Ryan Seacrest continued his role as host, while Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie joined the show as judges. Maddie Poppe won this season on May 21, 2018, while Caleb Lee Hutchinson was the runner-up, and Gabby Barrett finished in third place.

Česko Slovenská SuperStar is the joint Czech-Slovak version of Idols merged from Česko hledá SuperStar and Slovensko hľadá SuperStar which previous to that had three individual seasons each. The fifth season castings were held in Prague, Brno, Ostrava, Žilina, Bratislava and Košice. The season premiered on February 24, 2018 on TV Nova in the Czech Republic and on February 25, 2018 on Markíza in Slovakia, which have also been the broadcast stations for the individual seasons.

<i>Česko Slovenská SuperStar</i> season 6 Season of television series

Česko Slovenská SuperStar is the joint Czech-Slovak version of Idol series' Pop Idol merged from Česko hledá SuperStar and Slovensko hľadá SuperStar which previous to that had three individual seasons each. The sixth season premiered in winter 2020 with castings held in Prague and Bratislava. It is broadcast on two channels: «TV Nova» and «Markíza» (Slovakia) which have also been the broadcast stations for the individual seasons.
