181 is a 2022 Indian Tamil-language horror film directed by Mohamad Issack and produced by BBS Isha Guha. The film stars Gemini Ryker, Rheena Krishnan, Kavya Amaira, and Vijay Chandru in the lead roles. The music was composed by Shameel J with cinematography by Prasad and editing by S. Devaraj. The film released on 16 December 2022. [1]
The film marked Mohamad Issack's fourth project after the horror films Agadam (2014), Seesa (2016) and Nagesh Thiraiyarangam (2018). Shot throughout 2021, the film was promoted as a record-breaking venture for having a screenplay that was written in 12 hours. [2] [3]
The film was released on 16 December 2022 across Tamil Nadu. A critic from Maalai Malar gave the film 2.25 out of 5 stars, and labelled the film "low on thrills". [4] A reviewer from Dina Thanthi also gave the film an unfavourable review. [5] Film critic Malini Mannath wrote "while the director’s interest in setting up records is understandable, it would do him good if he concentrated more on the quality of his product by crafting a screenplay in a way more interesting and appealing to his audience." Friends is a 2001 Indian Tamil-language buddy drama film, directed by Siddique and produced by Appachan. It is a remake of Siddique's 1999 Malayalam film of the same name. The film stars Vijay, Suriya and Ramesh Khanna as friends, while Devayani, Vijayalakshmi, Abhinayashree, Sriman, Vadivelu, Charle, and Radha Ravi play supporting roles. The music was composed by Ilaiyaraaja, while Anandakuttan handled cinematography.
Padayappa is a 1999 Indian Tamil-language masala film written and directed by K. S. Ravikumar. It stars Sivaji Ganesan in his penultimate release and Rajinikanth in the titular lead. Ramya Krishnan and Soundarya share other lead roles, while Lakshmi, Radha Ravi, Nassar, Abbas and Preetha play supporting roles. The soundtrack album and background score were composed by A. R. Rahman. The film revolves around the title character and his family being targeted in a generations-long revenge by his cousin Neelambari, a narcissistic woman who was left humiliated after Padayappa rejected her love proposal as he was in love with her good-natured home worker Vasundhara.
Gnabagangal (transl. Memories) is a 2009 Tamil-language drama film directed by M. Jeevan. It stars lyricist Pa. Vijay and Sridevika. This is a remake of the Hindi film Raincoat (2004), with only difference in the purpose of protagonist's visit to his ex-love.
Poochandi (transl. Bogeyman), released as Poosandi Varan in India, is a 2022 Malaysian Tamil-language horror thriller film. It tells the story of a journalist from India who comes to Malaysia for his true ghost stories project and encounters a frightening supernatural entity that is haunting a group of friends.
Atharvaa Murali is an Indian actor who works in Tamil cinema. The son of actor Murali and grandson of director S. Siddalingaiah, Atharvaa began his acting career with Baana Kaathadi (2010). He then garnered critical acclaim for his performance as a youngster suffering from delusion in the romantic thriller Muppozhudhum Un Karpanaigal (2012), before signing on to feature in Bala's period film Paradesi (2013). His role as a rural villager held as a slave in a tea plantation became his breakthrough performance, earning Atharvaa a Filmfare Award for Best Actor in Tamil.

Moodu Pani is a 1980 Indian Tamil-language psychological thriller film written, directed and filmed by Balu Mahendra. Starring his then wife Shoba and Pratap, with N. Viswanathan, Gandhimathi, Mohan and Bhanu Chander in supporting roles, it is based on two novels: Idhuvum Oru Viduthalai Thaan (1978) by Rajendra Kumar, and The Collector (1963) by John Fowles. The film follows Chandru (Pratap), who has a strong hatred towards prostitutes and would kill any such woman he encounters. He falls in love with Rekha (Shoba) and believes marrying her will end his psychological distress.
Indriyam is a 2000 Indian Malayalam-language horror film directed by George Kithu. The film is about a group of college friends who go into a haunted forest, with Vani Viswanath, Vikram, Nishanth Sagar, Boban Alummoodan And Lena appearing amongst others in the cast. It was dubbed and released in Tamil as Manthira Kottai in December 2000, shortly after the success of Sethu, in which Vikram had featured.
Thaanaa Serndha Koottam is a 2018 Indian Tamil-language crime comedy film directed by Vignesh Shivan. The film stars Suriya, alongside Karthik, Ramya Krishnan, Keerthy Suresh, Nandha, Kalaiyarasan, RJ Balaji, and Suresh Chandra Menon. The film's music was composed by Anirudh Ravichander and the cinematography was performed by Dinesh B. Krishnan and edited by A. Sreekar Prasad. '96 is a 2018 Indian Tamil-language romantic drama film written and directed by C. Prem Kumar in his directorial debut. Produced by S. The film was released on 24 June 2022 to mixed reviews from critics, with praise for Jai's performance but criticism for the screenplay and violence. The film performed well at the box office. The film is slightly inspired from the 1991 American film "The Silence of the Lambs.
