The 1933 Ladies Open Championships was held at the Queen's Club, West Kensington in London from 27 March - 1 April 1933.
Susan Noel won her second consecutive title defeating Sheila Keith-Jones in the final. The Championship was held later than usual because the leading players were involved in a tournament in the United States. [1]

U.S. Chess Championship

The U.S. Chess Championship is an invitational tournament held to determine the United States chess champion. Begun as a challenge match in 1845, the U.S. Championship has been decided by tournament play for most of its long history. Since 1936, it has been held under the auspices of the U.S. Chess Federation. Until 1999, the event consisted of a round-robin tournament of varying size. From 1999 to 2006, the Championship was sponsored and organized by the Seattle Chess Foundation as a large Swiss system tournament. AF4C withdrew its sponsorship in 2007. The 2007 and 2008 events were held in Stillwater, Oklahoma, under the direction of Frank K. Berry. The Chess Club and Scholastic Center of Saint Louis in St. Louis has hosted the annual event since 2009.

Jack Crawford (tennis) Australian tennis player

John Herbert Crawford, was an Australian tennis player during the 1930s. He was the World No. 1 player for 1933, during which year he won the Australian Open, the French Open, and Wimbledon, and was runner-up at the U.S. Open in five sets, thus missing the Grand Slam by one set that year. He also won the Australian Open in 1931, 1932, and 1935. He was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 1979.

1933 Open Championship

The 1933 Open Championship was the 68th Open Championship, held 5–8 July at the Old Course in St Andrews, Scotland. Denny Shute defeated fellow American Craig Wood by five strokes in a 36-hole Saturday playoff to win his only Open title, the first of his three major championships. The Ryder Cup was held in late June at Southport and Ainsdale Golf Club in North West England, and the members of the American team played in the championship, similar to four years later in 1937.

Hershey Country Club is a country club located in Hershey, Pennsylvania, which was founded in 1930 by Milton S. Hershey.

The Canoe Sprint European Championships is an international canoeing and kayaking event organized by the European Canoe Association (ECA). It was first held in 1933 in Prague under the auspices of the International Canoe Federation. In 1997, the European Championships were resumed, and now take place annually.

There was no Open Championship held in 1933, the defending champion F. D. Amr Bey of Egypt was busy defending his Amateur championship whilst defending professional champion Don Butcher resisted a challenge from Jim Dear. This professional challenge determined who would meet Bey in 1934 for the Open Championship.
