Qualification

A total of 15 teams qualified for the final tournament. In addition to Mexico, who qualified automatically as the hosts, another 14 teams qualified via four separate continental tournament.

A total of 34 teams entered the qualification rounds of the 1950 FIFA World Cup, competing for a total of 16 spots in the final tournament. Brazil, as the hosts, and Italy, as the defending champions, qualified automatically, leaving 14 spots open for competition.

In the men's football tournament of the 2007 Pan American Games, the Pan American Sports Organisation expanded the number of participants from 8 to 12 and set the age limit to the Under-20 level. In addition, the top three finishers from Central America or the Caribbean, in addition to hosts Mexico, qualified to participate at the 2011 Pan American Games. The Executive Committee approved that for men's U-20 championships all three North American teams again qualified automatically for the finals. Central America received four berths, and the Caribbean received five.

Football competitions at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru were held from July 25 to August 9. The venue for the competition was the Estadio Universidad San Marcos, which seats up to 32,000 spectators.

The 2020 Men's World Floorball Championships was the 13th World Championships in men's floorball. The tournament took place in Helsinki, Finland, during 3–11 December 2021. The tournament was originally intended to be played between 4–12 December 2020, but on 7 December 2020, it was rescheduled one year into the future due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
