The 1989 Copa del Rey was the 53rd edition of the Spanish basketball Cup. It was organized by the ACB and its Final Eight was played in A Coruña, in the Pazo dos Deportes de Riazor between 15 and 17 November 1988.

The Copa del Rey de Baloncesto is an annual cup competition for Spanish basketball teams organized by Spain's top professional league, the Liga ACB.

The Asociación de Clubes Españoles de Baloncesto, more commonly known as the Asociación de Clubs de Baloncesto (ACB), is a national sports association responsible for administering the main professional basketball league in Spain - the Liga Endesa. The organisation was founded in 1982.

This edition was played by the 24 teams of the 1988–89 ACB season. The eight first qualified teams of the previous season qualified directly to the Round of 16.

The 1988–89 ACB season was the 6th season of the Liga ACB, after changing its name. The number of teams increased from 16 to 24. The format also changed. The 24 teams were divided into two groups of 12. After playing a league, 24 teams were divided into three groups of eight teams each. The first six of the white group and the champions of the red and blue groups played for the title.

The 1987–88 ACB season was the 5th season of the Liga ACB, after changing its name. The sixteen teams were divided in two groups. After playing a double round-robin, the teams are divided again in two groups of eight teams each.

The 2013–14 LEB Oro season was the 18th season of the Liga Española de Baloncesto, a Spanish basketball league. It was named Adecco Oro as its sponsored identity. The champion of the regular season, River Andorra MoraBanc was promoted to Liga ACB. The teams between second and ninth position joined the promotion play off, where the winner, Ford Burgos was promoted too to the higher division.

Real Madrid defended successfully the title and conquered its fourth consecutive cup, 27th overall.

2017–18 LEB Oro season

The 2017–18 LEB Oro season was the 22nd season of the Spanish basketball second league. It started on 29 September 2017 with the first round of the regular season and ended on 12 June 2018 with the final.
