Team qualified for the 2005 World Championship |
Al-Rayyan Sports Club is a Qatari multi-sports club fielding teams in a number of sports such as football, futsal, basketball, volleyball, handball, athletics, table tennis, and swimming. It is based at the Ahmed bin Ali Stadium in Umm Al Afaei in the city of Al Rayyan. The club was founded in 1967 after merging the old Rayyan team with Nusoor Club. The official team colours are red and black.
Ehsan Haddadi is an Iranian discus thrower. His height is 193 cm and his weight is 127 kg.
The 1996–97 Asian Club Championship was the 16th edition of the annual international club football competition held in the AFC region (Asia). It determined that year's club champion of association football in Asia.
The 1987 Asian Men's Handball Championship was the fourth Asian Championship, which was taking place from 20 to 29 August 1987 in Amman, Jordan. The competition is played along with first Women's Championship.
Sport in Qatar is primarily centred on football in terms of participation and spectators. Additionally, athletics, basketball, handball, volleyball, camel racing, horse racing, cricket and swimming are also widely practised. There are currently eleven multi-sports clubs in the country, and seven single-sports clubs.
The 2008 Asian Men's Junior Handball Championship took place in Amman from 25 July – 5 August. It acts as the Asian qualifying tournament for the 2009 Men's Junior World Handball Championship in Egypt.
The 2004 Asian Men's Junior Handball Championship took place in Hyderabad from 8 September–17 September. It acts as the Asian qualifying tournament for the 2005 Men's Junior World Handball Championship in Hungary.
The 2002 Asian Men's Junior Handball Championship took place in Bangkok from 21 August–31 August. It acts as the Asian qualifying tournament for the 2003 Men's Junior World Handball Championship in Brazil.
The 1996 Asian Men's Junior Handball Championship took place in Dubai from 21 August–30 August. It acts as the Asian qualifying tournament for the 1997 Men's Junior World Handball Championship.
The 2010 Asian Men's Handball Championship was the 14th edition of the Asian Men's Handball Championship, held in Beirut, Lebanon, from 6 to 19 February 2010. It acted as the Asian qualifying tournament for the 2011 World Men's Handball Championship in Sweden.
The 2015 World Men's Handball Championship was the 24th staging of the World Men's Handball Championship, organised by the International Handball Federation (IHF). The final tournament was held for the first time in Qatar, from 15 January to 1 February 2015. The Qatari bid was selected over those of Norway, Poland and France after a vote by the IHF Council on 27 January 2011, in Malmö, Sweden. This was the third time that the World Championship was hosted in the Middle East And North Africa, after Egypt in 1999 and Tunisia in 2005.
The 2012 Asian Men's Handball Championship was the 15th edition of the Asian Men's Handball Championship, held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, from 26 January to 5 February 2012. It acted as the Asian qualifying tournament for the 2013 World Men's Handball Championship in Spain.
Handball Federation of India was founded by Jagat Singh Lohan from Rohtak, Haryana, who was an alumnus of YMCA College of Physical Education of Madras. His efforts during Munich Olympics helped in establishing HFI. The member states were Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Vidharbha and Jammu and Kashmir. He was also elected as first secretary general of Handball Federation of India.
The 2012 Asian Men's Junior Handball Championship took place in Doha from June 30 – July 13. It acted as the Asian qualifying tournament for the 2013 Men's Junior World Handball Championship.
The 2013 West Asian Football Federation Championship was the 8th WAFF Championship, an international tournament for member nations of the West Asian Football Federation. The tournament was hosted by Qatar from 25 December 2013 to 7 January 2014 and the host country won the tournament for the first time. The 2012 champions, Syria, did not defend their title.
The 2016 Asian Men's Junior Handball Championship is the 15th edition of the Asian Men's Junior Handball Championship held from 22 July to 1 August 2016 at Amman, Jordan under the aegis of Asian Handball Federation. It also acts as the qualification tournament for the 2017 Men's Junior World Handball Championship.
The 2021 IHF World Women's Handball Championship, the 25th event by the International Handball Federation, was held in Spain from 1 to 19 December 2021. On 18 October 2018, at a congress in Doha, Qatar, the IHF announced that the World Championship would be expanded from 24 teams to 32 teams from 2021 onwards.
The 2004 African Men's Handball Championship was the 16th edition of the African Men's Handball Championship, held in Cairo, Egypt, from 8 to 18 April 2004. It acted as the African qualifying tournament for the 2005 World Championship in Tunisia.
The 2016 West Asian Women's Handball Championship was the inaugural edition of the championship held under the aegis of Asian Handball Federation. The championship was hosted by Qatar Handball Association at Aspire Dome, Doha (Qatar) from 16 to 19 September 2016.
The 2018 Asian Men's Youth Handball Championship was the 8th edition of the championship held from 16 to 26 September 2018 at Amman (Jordan) under the aegis of Asian Handball Federation. It was the third time in history that championship was organised in Jordan by the Jordan Handball Federation. The top four teams qualified for the 2019 Men's Youth World Handball Championship to be held in Republic of Macedonia.
