Iranian football's 2nd division is the third-highest football division overall in the Iranian football league system. Before 2001, the 2nd division league was the second-highest division in Iranian football league system, however, this was changed to third-highest division when Iran's football structure officially became professional.
The 2007–08 Persian Gulf Cup was the 25th season of Iran's Football League and seventh as Iran Pro League since its establishment in 2001. Saipa were the defending champions. The season featured 13 teams from the 2006–07 Persian Gulf Cup and three new teams promoted from the 2006–07 Azadegan League: Shirin Faraz as champions, Pegah and Sanat Naft. PAS Hamedan replaced PAS Tehran. The league started on 16 August 2007 and ended on 17 May 2008. Persepolis won the Pro League title for the first time in their history.

He was named best setter at the 2014 World League and 2008, 2012 and 2016 Olympic qualifying tournaments, as well as most valuable player at the 2013 Asian Championship. The 2012–13 Hazfi Cup was the 26th season of the Iranian football knockout competition. Esteghlal was the defending champion, but was eliminated by Sepahan in semi-final. The competition started on 13 December 2012 and was ended on 5 May 2013. Sepahan won the title after defeating Persepolis in final.

Mohammad Soleimani is a former Iranian male volleyball player. He was part of the Iran men's national volleyball team at the 2006 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship in Japan. He played for Paykan Tehran.

The competition started on 12 September 2016, and the final was played on 11 May 2017. Naft Tehran defeated Tractor Sazi at the final and earned their first title.
Adel Gholami is a volleyball player from Iran, who plays as a middle blocker for the Iran men's national team and the club Haraz Amol. Gholami competed at the Rio 2016 Summer Olympics.

Ahsanollah Shirkavand is an Iranian volleyball libero. After playing at the Asian Youth Games, he was invited to the Iran Men's National Volleyball Team and played for it from 1998 to 2000 who finished fourth at the Asian Men's Volleyball Championship. Shirkavand continued playing for the National Team under the coaching of Julio Velasco until 2013, when he was forced to leave national games due to injury.
