Higashi-osaka held a mayoral election on July 2, 2006. The election was won by JCP candidate Nagao Junzo. Both candidates did run as independents but were supported by different political fractions.

Tokyo 6th district is a constituency of the House of Representatives in the Diet of Japan. It is located in Tokyo, and consists of major parts of the City of Setagaya, one of Tokyo's 23 special wards. With 2.18 times as many voters as Tokushima's 1st district, it had the lowest electoral weight throughout Japan in the election of 2005. In 2007 the Supreme Court dismissed a claim that the election in this and other Tokyo districts was unconstitutional and thus invalid. As of September 2012, 486,353 eligible voters were registered in the district, giving them the third lowest electoral weight in the country.
The Kanagawa at-large district is a constituency of the House of Councillors in the Diet of Japan represented by six Councillors. It comprises the entire prefecture of Kanagawa and elects three Councillors every three years by single non-transferable vote.
Hokkaidō 9th district is a constituency of the House of Representatives in the Diet of Japan. It consists of Hokkaido's Hidaka and Iburi Subprefectures. As of 2009, 414,438 eligible voters were registered in the district.
Saga 1st district is a constituency of the House of Representatives in the Diet of Japan. It is located in Saga Prefecture and consists of Tosu, parts of Saga and Kanzaki as well as the Miyaki District. As of September 2012, 237,748 eligible voters were registered in the district.
The Okinawa at-large district is a constituency of the House of Councillors in the Diet of Japan. It consists of the entire prefecture of Okinawa and was created in 1970 following the agreement between US president Richard Nixon and prime minister Eisaku Satō on restoration of Japanese sovereignty over the Ryūkyū islands. Okinawa is represented by two Councillors electing one every three years.
Tochigi At-Large District is a multi-member district of the House of Councillors in the Diet of Japan. It consists of Tochigi Prefecture and elects two Councillors, one per election.
The Hokkaido at-large district is a constituency of the House of Councillors in the Diet of Japan. It consists of the prefecture (dō) of Hokkai[dō] and is represented by six Councillors electing three at a time every three years by single non-transferable vote for six-year terms. Kyōto 3rd district is a constituency of the House of Representatives in the Diet of Japan. It is located in South central Kyoto and consists of Kyoto city's Fushimi ward, the cities of Mukō and Nagaokakyō and the town of Ōyamazaki. As of 2012, 345,260 eligible voters were registered in the district.
Hyogo 11th district is a constituency of the House of Representatives in the Diet of Japan. It is located in Southwestern Hyōgo and is based on the 1995 borders of the city of Himeji; the former towns of Ieshima, Yumesaki, Kōdera and Yasutomi that merged into Himeji in 2006 are part of the 12th district. As of September 2015, 387,509 eligible voters were registered in the district.
Kagoshima 3rd Districtis a single-member constituency of the House of Representatives in the Diet of Japan. It is located in Northern Kagoshima and consists of the cities of Akune, Izumi, Satsumasendai, Hioki, Ichikikushikino, Isa and Aira as well as the towns of Satsuma, Nagashima and Yūsui. In 2021 the district had 319,010 eligible voters.
Kanagawa 1st district is a single-member constituency of the House of Representatives, the lower house of the national Diet of Japan. It is located in eastern Kanagawa Prefecture and covers the central downtown and southeastern parts of the prefectural capital of Yokohama, namely the Naka (centre), Isogo and Kanazawa wards. It is among many other things home to the Yokohama city hall and the Kanagawa prefectural government building. As of December 1, 2020, 428,115 eligible voters were registered in the district.
Niigata 5th district is a single-member electoral district for the House of Representatives, the lower house of the National Diet of Japan. It is located in the central, Chūetsu region of Niigata and covers parts of Nagaoka City, the cities of Ojiya, Uonuma, Minami-Uonuma as well as the former Minami-Uonuma County that, as of 2012, only has one remaining municipality: Yuzawa Town. As of September 2012, 282,904 voters were registered in Niigata 5th district, giving its voters above average vote weight.
Kumamoto 4th District is a current single-member electoral district for the House of Representatives, the lower house of the National Diet of Japan. It is located in Kumamoto and since 2017 covers roughly the Southern half of Kumamoto.
Yamaguchi 1st district is a single-member electoral district for the House of Representatives, the lower house of the National Diet of Japan. It is located in Yamaguchi and covers the prefectural capital Yamaguchi, parts of the city of Shūnan and the city of Hōfu. As of September 2012, 359,151 eligible voters were resident in the district.
Hokkaidō 2nd district is a single-member electoral district for the House of Representatives, the lower house of the National Diet of Japan. It is located in Sapporo, the prefectural capital of Hokkaido and consists of the Higashi ("East") ward and most of the Kita ("North") ward.
The Hyogo at-large district is a constituency that represents Hyogo Prefecture in the House of Councillors in the Diet of Japan. It currently has five Councillors in the 242-member house, but this representation will increase to six by July 2019.
Saitama 5th district is a constituency of the House of Representatives in the Diet of Japan. It is located in Saitama Prefecture and covers Nishi, Kita, Minuma, Ōmiya and Chūō wards of the city of Saitama.
Hokkaidō 11th district is a single-member constituency of the House of Representatives, the lower house of the national Diet of Japan. It is located in southeastern Hokkaidō and consists of the city of Obihiro and the surrounding Tokachi Subprefecture. As of 2016, 291,852 eligible voters were registered in the district. The district is the country's second largest in terms of area after the neighbouring 12th district.
Niigata 1st district is a constituency of the House of Representatives in the National Diet of Japan, represented by Chinami Nishimura of the Constitutional Democratic Party of Japan since 2017. As of 2017, 439,968 eligible voters were registered in the district
Okinawa 2nd district is a constituency of the House of Representatives in the Diet of Japan. It is located in Okinawa Prefecture and encompasses the cities of Urasoe and Ginowan, and Nakagami District. As of 2016, 288,070 eligible voters were registered in the district.
