The 2006 Italian Figure Skating Championships (Italian : Campionati Italiani Assoluti 2006 Pattinaggio Di Figura Su Ghiaccio) was held in Sesto San Giovanni from January 5 through 8, 2006. Skaters competed in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, ice dancing, and synchronized skating. The results were used to choose the teams to the 2006 Winter Olympics, the 2006 World Championships, the 2006 European Championships, and the 2006 World Junior Championships.

The World Figure Skating Championships, commonly referred to as "Worlds", are an annual figure skating competition sanctioned by the International Skating Union. Medals are awarded in men's singles, women's singles, pair skating, and ice dance. Generally held in March, the World Championships are considered to be the most prestigious of the ISU Figure Skating Championships. With the exception of the Olympic title, a world title is considered to be the highest competitive achievement in figure skating.
Carolina Kostner is an Italian figure skater. She is the 2014 Olympic bronze medalist, the 2012 World champion, a five-time European champion, and the 2011 Grand Prix Final champion. She is also a medalist at five other World Championships, six other European Championships, and three other Grand Prix Finals, the 2003 World Junior bronze medalist, and a nine-time Italian national champion. Kostner has won 11 medals at the European championships, most recently in 2018, and is the most decorated singles skater in the history of that competition.
The 2006 U.S. Figure Skating Championships took place between January 7 and 15, 2006 at the Savvis Center in St. Louis, Missouri. The 2007 World Figure Skating Championships was a senior international figure skating competition sanctioned by the International Skating Union. Medals were awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. The event was held at the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium in Tokyo, Japan from March 20 to 25.
The 2006 Canadian Figure Skating Championships took place from January 9 to 15, 2006 at the TD Place Arena in Ottawa, Ontario. It is an annual figure skating competition held by Skate Canada, the nation's figure skating governing body. Skaters competed at the senior and junior levels in the disciplines of men's singles, women's singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. Although the official ISU terminology for female skaters in the singles category is ladies, Skate Canada's official terminology is women and that is the term used in the official results. Due to the number of entries, the men's and women's competition had a qualifying round and the qualifying round was split in half to accommodate all the skaters. The results of this competition were used to pick the Canadian teams to the 2006 Winter Olympics, the 2006 World Championships, the 2006 Four Continents Championships, and the 2006 World Junior Championships.

The results were used to choose the teams to the 2011 World Championships, the 2011 European Championships, and the 2011 World Junior Championships.
The 2011–12 ISU Junior Grand Prix was the 15th season of the series of junior international competitions organized by the International Skating Union. It was the junior-level complement to the 2011–12 ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating contested by senior-level skaters. Skaters competed in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dance.

Skaters competed in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, ice dancing, and synchronized skating on the senior and junior levels. The results may be used to choose the teams to the 2012 World Championships, 2012 European Championships, and 2012 World Junior Championships.
The Artistic Skating World Championships ('Worlds') is an annual artistic roller skating competition sanctioned by World Skate in which elite figure skaters compete for the title of World Champion. First held in 1946, the event is regarded the most prestigious of the sport and a world title is considered to be the highest competitive achievement in artistic skating. Skaters compete in many different categories such as men's singles, ladies singles, pairs, and junior categories at the World Championships.
The 2013 Italian Figure Skating Championships was held in Milan from December 19 through 22, 2012. Medals were awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, ice dancing, and synchronized skating on the senior and junior levels. The results are among the criteria used to choose Italy's teams for ISU Championships. On 5 December 2012, the Italian federation released the final selection criteria for the 2013 World Championships, 2013 European Championships, and 2013 World Junior Championships.
The 2014–15 Japan Figure Skating Championships took place on December 26–28, 2014 at the Big Hat in Nagano. It was the 83rd edition of the event. Medals were awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing.
Italy competed at the 2020 Winter Youth Olympics in Lausanne, Switzerland from 9 to 22 January 2020.
