The Virginia Cavaliers, also known as Wahoos or Hoos, are the athletic teams representing the University of Virginia, located in Charlottesville. The Cavaliers compete at the NCAA Division I level, in the Atlantic Coast Conference since 1953. Known simply as Virginia or UVA in sports media, the athletics program has twice won the Capital One Cup for men's sports after leading the nation in overall athletic excellence in those years. The Cavaliers have regularly placed among the nation's Top 5 athletics programs.
The California Golden Bears are the athletic teams that represent the University of California, Berkeley. Referred to in athletic competition as California or Cal, the university fields 30 varsity athletic programs and various club teams in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA)'s Division I primarily as a member of the Pac-12 Conference, and for a limited number of sports as a member of the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF). Over the course of the school's history, California has won team national titles in 13 men's and 3 women's sports and 115 team titles overall. Cal athletes have also competed in the Olympics for a host of different countries. Notable facilities used by the Bears include California Memorial Stadium (football) and Haas Pavilion. Cal finished the 2010–11 athletic season with 1,219.50 points, earning third place in the Director's Cup standings, the Golden Bears' highest finish ever. Cal did not receive any points for its national championships in rugby and men's crew because those sports are not governed by the NCAA. Cal finished 12th in the 2014-15 standings.
The Virginia Tech Hokies are the athletic teams representing Virginia Tech in intercollegiate athletics. The Hokies participate in the NCAA's Division I Atlantic Coast Conference in 22 varsity sports. Virginia Tech's men's sports are football, basketball, baseball, cross country, golf, soccer, swimming and diving, tennis, indoor and outdoor track and field, and wrestling. Virginia Tech's women's sports are basketball, cross country, lacrosse, soccer, softball, swimming and diving, tennis, indoor and outdoor track and field, golf, and volleyball.
The VCU Rams are the athletic teams of Virginia Commonwealth University of Richmond, Virginia, United States. The Rams compete in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association as members of the Atlantic 10 Conference. The most successful teams have been the men's tennis and basketball teams, which have had success in their conference and on the regional and national stages. The school's colors are black and gold. The athletic director is Ed McLaughlin. The official student supporter group is known as the Rowdy Rams.

The Florida Gators men's golf team represents the University of Florida in the sport of golf. The Gators compete in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the Southeastern Conference (SEC). They play their home matches on the Mark Bostick Golf Course on the university's Gainesville, Florida campus, and are currently led by head coach J. C. Deacon. In the eighty-nine-year history of the Gators' men's golf program, they have won fifteen SEC championships and five NCAA national tournament championships. They are the current defending national champions.

It was the 74th NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championship. The team championship was won by the Texas Longhorns who won their third national championship by defeating the Alabama Crimson Tide in the championship match play round 3–2. The individual national championship was won by Thomas Pieters from the University of Illinois.
The 2013 NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championship was a golf tournament contested from May 28 to June 2 at the Crabapple Course of the Capital City Club in Atlanta, Georgia. It was the 75th NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championship, and the tournament was hosted by the Georgia Institute of Technology. The tournament was won by the Alabama Crimson Tide who won their first championship by defeating the Illinois Fighting Illini in the match-play championship round. The individual national championship was won by Max Homa of the California Golden Bears who won by three strokes.

It was the 73rd NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championship. The team championship was won by the Augusta State Jaguars who won their second consecutive national championship by defeating the Georgia Bulldogs in the championship match play round 3–2. The individual national championship was won by John Peterson from Louisiana State University.

It was the 72nd NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championship. The team championship was won by the Augusta State Jaguars, their first, who defeated the Oklahoma State Cowboys in the championship match play round 31⁄2 to 21⁄2. The individual national championship was won by Scott Langley from the University of Illinois.
The 2008 NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championship was a golf tournament contested from May 28 to May 31, 2008, at the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex in West Lafayette, Indiana. It was the 70th NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championship, and was hosted by Purdue University. The team championship was won by the UCLA Bruins who captured their second national championship by one stroke over the defending champion Stanford Cardinal in stroke play. The individual national championship was won by Kevin Chappell, also from UCLA.
The 2006 NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championship was a golf tournament contested from May 31 to June 3, 2006 at the Crosswater Club in Sunriver, Oregon. It was the 68th NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championship. The team championship was won by the Oklahoma State Cowboys who captured their tenth national championship by three strokes over the Florida Gators. The individual national championship was won by Jonathan Moore, also from Oklahoma State.
The 2015 NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championship was the 77th annual tournament to determine the national champions of NCAA Division I collegiate golf. It was contested from May 29 – June 3, 2015 at The Concession Golf Club in Bradenton, Florida. The tournament was hosted by the University of South Florida. Two championships were awarded: team and individual. The LSU Tigers won their fifth national title and first since 1955.

The 2017 NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championship was the 79th annual tournament to determine the national champions of NCAA Division I men's golf. It was contested from May 26 to 31 at the Rich Harvest Farms course in Sugar Grove, Illinois and hosted by Northern Illinois University. Oklahoma defeated defending champions Oregon, 3.5–1.5 and Braden Thornberry of Mississippi won the individual competition.

It was the 83rd NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championship. The team championship was won by the Texas Longhorns who won their fourth national championship by defeating the Arizona State Sun Devils in the championship match play round 3–2. The individual national championship was won by Gordon Sargent from Vanderbilt University.
