The 2007 NCAA Division I lacrosse tournament was the 37th annual tournament hosted by the National Collegiate Athletic Association to determine the team champion of men's college lacrosse among its Division I programs, held at the end of the 2007 NCAA Division I men's lacrosse season. [2] The tournament was held from May 12–28, 2007.

Johns Hopkins won their ninth national title, defeating Duke in the final 12–11. [3] Johns Hopkins was led by Paul Rabil and coach Dave Pietramala, and Duke was led by Zack Greer and Matt Danowski.

The championship game was played at M&T Bank Stadium, the home of the NFL's Baltimore Ravens, in Baltimore, Maryland, with a crowd of 48,443 fans. The first round of the tournament was played on May 12 and May 13 at the home field of the top-seeded team. The quarterfinals were held on May 19 and May 20 on two separate neutral fields: the Navy–Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis, Maryland, and Princeton Stadium in Princeton, New Jersey. The tournament culminated with the championship weekend, which included the Division II and Division III championships, semifinals and finals held on Memorial Day weekend. [4]

Delaware, led by Alex Smith made it to the Final Four for the first time in school history.

Qualifying

Sixteen NCAA Division I college men's lacrosse teams met after having played their way through a regular season, and for some, a conference tournament.

No teams made their debut appearance in the Division I men's lacrosse tournament.

The Konica Minolta Face-Off Classic is an annual college lacrosse event played in Baltimore, Maryland early in the NCAA Division I season. From 2007 to 2009, the event consisted of a doubleheader; in 2010 it was expanded to include a third game. The event takes place in M&T Bank Stadium, the home field of the Baltimore Ravens of the National Football League, and it was first held 2007. The event is hosted by the manufacturer Konica Minolta. The UMBC Retrievers men's lacrosse team represents the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I men's college lacrosse competition. Scott Marr is an American lacrosse coach. He is currently the head coach for the University at Albany Great Danes men's lacrosse team. He previously served as the offensive coordinator at the University of Maryland and University of Delaware. Marr led the Great Danes to the school's first ever NCAA tournament appearance in 2003. In 2007, Albany won its first NCAA tournament game, and the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association named Marr the Coach of the Year.

The NCAA Division I Men's Lacrosse Championship tournament determines the annual top men's college lacrosse team in the NCAA Division I.
