The 2012 Italian Figure Skating Championships (Italian : Campionati Italiani Assoluti 2012 Pattinaggio Di Figura Su Ghiaccio) was held in Courmayeur from December 15 through 18, 2011. Skaters competed in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, ice dancing, and synchronized skating on the senior and junior levels. The results may be used to choose the teams to the 2012 World Championships, 2012 European Championships, and 2012 World Junior Championships.

The World Figure Skating Championships ("Worlds") is an annual figure skating competition sanctioned by the International Skating Union. Medals are awarded in the categories of men's singles, women's singles, pair skating, and ice dance. Generally held in March, the World Championships are considered the most prestigious of the ISU Figure Skating Championships. With the exception of the Olympic title, a world title is considered to be the highest competitive achievement in figure skating.
The Canadian Figure Skating Championships is a figure skating competition held annually to crown the national champions of Canada. It is organized by Skate Canada, the nation's figure skating governing body. Medals may be awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing on the senior, junior, and novice levels.
The World Junior Figure Skating Championships is an annual figure skating competition sanctioned by the International Skating Union in which figure skaters within a designated age range compete for the title of World Junior champion. The ISU guidelines for junior eligibility have varied throughout the years – currently, skaters must be at least 13 years old but not yet 19 before the previous 1 July, except for men competing in pair skating and ice dancing where the age maximum is 21.

The 2013 Italian Figure Skating Championships was held in Milan from December 19 through 22, 2012. Medals were awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, ice dancing, and synchronized skating on the senior and junior levels. The results are among the criteria used to choose Italy's teams for ISU Championships. On 5 December 2012, the Italian federation released the final selection criteria for the 2013 World Championships, 2013 European Championships, and 2013 World Junior Championships.
The 2012–13 Japan Figure Skating Championships took place on December 20–24, 2012 at the Makomanai Ice Arena in Sapporo. It was the 81st edition of the event. Medals were awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles and ice dancing. No pairs competition was held this year.
